Austin 3:!6 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Avg 29.92 in 2015 with a solitary century against Pakistan in the world cup opener. Even that innings was more of a struggle.Career avg came down to 50.35Should we press the panic button yet or its just a poor form?
Bleed-Blue Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Give him to the end of the series.Avg of 50+ is still very good. Edited October 11, 2015 by Bleed-Blue
sandeep Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 <sarcasm> Yeah, give him till the end of the series or show him the door and replace with fellow RCB footure shooper-ishtaar Sarfaraaz </sarcasm>
fineleg Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Players like Kohli or ChePu (in Tests) need to be allowed time to find the form. It is a worry, but I guess we need to allow him to find form.
Austin 3:!6 Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 Also Kohli need to bat at 3. Not sure why you want to chop and cheese the batting position of the best batsman in the team. We have already seen pushing Sachin to bat at 4 never worked in ODI's.

rkt.india Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Rahane doesn't have a place in our ODI side. He is changing the balance of the game. Today too, he batted too slowly when only 4 fielders were outside the circle. 60 of 82.

Today too, he batted too slowly when only 4 fielders were outside the circle. 60 of 82. Disagree, Rahane does need to improve his ODI batting - especially strike-rotation and innings pacing. But he's more likely to succeed away from home in bowler friendly conditions. I believe he has what it takes, just needs to raise his game a bit. And a home stretch of ODIs is the time and place to do so.
tweaker Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Kohli should bat at no 3 position.Gurukeerat should be considered in the next odi to perform the role of finished, but it looks impossible as Dhoni will repeat the same 11

He's a guy who can hit good balls for 4 - just needs to find his rhythm as an ODI bat, and he will hopefully. Definitely needs improvement on innings pacing and strike rotation, but better odds of him learning at home, rather than being stuck with front foot plonkers in crucial away ODIs. Better odds for Rahane improving his strike rotation, than a Yusuf Pathan type slogger being able to adapt to seam/swing/bounce friendly conditions. New guy 1
