ICF-ers may not understand tamil, but that's a pretty cheap style of talking by Ashwin. Yes, it was a needless provoke by JSR@im_Sam but why is Ashwin even responding to such idiots? And in a cheap style of writing? He should learn from folks like Dravid and Tendulkar, and not even respond to taunts. Is that Ashwin's real twitter handle, or some fake? (prolly fake?)

That does look like his official twitter account. Can you please translate what he said?

Me and my brother call him "sambhar" . To get the update on the last wicket, one of us would ask "wicket kisne liya" , the other would reply "sambhar ne".

Because he is South Indian, and not exactly the fittest . BTW sambhar is also a type of deer.(iirc)

Great respect for his bowling skills though. Respect for his batting as well as  for his eloquent speaking.

He said: "Go and educate your kids. Did I come to play cricket after asking you?"

Literal translation won't portray the right picture.

What he is saying is "chal be...jaa ke apna kaam kar. Tujse pooch kar kelne nahi aaya"

Though there was no need for Ashwin to reply I think he must have felt good after putting the troll in his place :giggle:

okay. Sambar is reserved for the guy who is too cheesy , soft.  Thayir sadham is reserved for brahmins.

Yes English translation wont do justice : Go and educate your kids. Did I come to play cricket after asking you?

But the way its said in tamil slang is a cheap sounding way.

"Doc" shouldn't get upset at people for stating facts . His SR outside Asia is worse than Harbhajan Singh's SR outside asia.Of course he has improved as a bowler and will perhaps do better in the future.

latest cricinfo article on ashwin :

Among all bowlers who have taken at least 100 wickets in Asia - there are 25 bowlers in this list - only Imran Khan has a better average than Ashwin's 20.47. Waqar comes in next at 20.64, followed by Muttiah Muralitharan (21.69) and Wasim Akram (22.53). Clearly, Ashwin is special in Asian conditions.

His average in Asia is outstanding, but how good is his average relative to the overall bowling average in these matches? Has he benefited from pitches being very bowler-friendly, and overall scores being very low in these matches? The last two columns of the table below offer some answers. In the 23 Tests that Ashwin has played in Asia, the overall bowling average is 30.32, which means his average of 20.47 is 1.48 times better than the overall average. Only two other bowlers have a better ratio (among those with 100 Test wickets in Asia) - Imran and Murali - while Shoaib Akhtar's average was 1.48 times better as well.
