gakgupta Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 He is the guy who was compared to our sir jadeja in ICF.All of a sudden he has hit the purple patch. Infact he played well in all the conditions. But he has such a awful stance. Moreover, he covers all the 3 stumps and plays max to leg side. Its effective and worked for him. But for a viewer its a curse. Finally his honeymoon period is over.Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk Rasgulla and tweaker 2
Adi_91 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I haven't followed him since the India series. How has he played? tweaker 1

Bigg Brother Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 He is good player...Beast at home and only aussie at present to perform at away venue also...Was fighting in subcintinent turning track also when every other aussies had given up against India and Pakistan. It is not matter whether his stance is painful for our eyes or not.At the end, performance matters.
The Realist Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 He's garbage in T20s though - just check his stats.
Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) He's garbage in T20s though - just check his stats.t20 yes his stats are crap, but even Ab devillers n dhoni stats arent gr8 either Edited March 4, 2016 by Ankit_sharma03

Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 FLAT TRACKS MY FRIEND DON'T SEE ANY DIFFERENCE WHAT SO EVER.. UAE - Younis Khan is a legend so if he can score runs on these roads so can smithThose tracks in India were not flat, they were turningN in uae , those tracks can be flat for home team but not touring team if u see those test matches in aus line up only steve smith scored n against yasir shah. nt as easy as it sounds. Teams have struggled against pak in UaE in testN about younis khan n those flat decks, younis khan avg In Aus- 43NZ- 65eng-58India- 76( against kumble n bhajji)SL-45So again he is not only a flat deck bully, Does anyone check their stats here, Ppl Avg above 40-50 are considered to be struggling .
Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 your screen shot isn't working mate.. that's what i said in post above
HippoSucks Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Smith has good test records everywhere despite playing as a leg spinner for the first few years. Edited March 4, 2016 by HippoSucks Ankit_sharma03 1
Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Smith has good test records everywhere despite played as a leg spinner for the first few years. Exactly n when he toured india he was nt the transformed batsman what he is now. Lets judge when he tours India Next time. He has a gud footwork against spinner and again the skill to know how to make runs. M sure he ll get runsN there wud one or two places where a batsman avg might not b gr8 n thats with a lot of gr8 batsman. Ricky pointing didnt have runs in india in 1st 2-3 toursStill he is way above ppl who were always batsman - rohit, pujara, whole pak new batting lineup, jp duminy, yuvraj singh, raina and so many. These guys were always batsman lets not judge smith so soon whose transformation into a batsman has been just few yrs.
Yami Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Well, he is such a good player for all format, he will bounce back in India, his IPL heaven so his honeymoon restarts in few week.Yes but Australia lost 5 matches in a ROW 3rd. Time in last 12 years.(t20i) under his captaincy I do not think finch captain anymore .
Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Lets not even go near t20 in sub continent prob jaddu has better t20 record outside than this guy.. He is crap in t20s , crap in sub continent in odis and just played 2 tests in india not good enough to judge.. but he played 13 ODIS with that average 1st yes he has been a t20 failure but dhoni n ab devillers t20 stats arent gr8 either, does make them less of batsman2nd Even kohli, rahane n rohit have played 2-2 test in Sa n NZ , wats ur opinion on them . N last Read those stats carefully, wait ill do that for u 5 matches in Sri lanka N India n both times he got only two innings to bat and 3 matches in banglades again got innings to batthat means 6 innings in totalAND YOU DIDNT EVEN CARE TO CHECK THAT HE BATTED AT 7 IN 5 INNINGS OUT of 6 , WHERE YOU HARDLY GET BALLS TO FACEBefore giving such stats u shud actually study them a bitSo let me get this Smith who avg above 40 in Ind n SL in test N 63 in UAE in ODI, where he gets 1st time a chance to bat up the order is basically a failure in subcontinet Younis khan who Avg In Aus- 43, NZ- 65, Eng-58, India- 76( against kumble n bhajji), SriLanka-45 is a flat track bully So Basically u judge a batsman by his Perfomance in odi n t20 and that to without checking where he batted how many balls he faced. N Avg above 40 doesn't matter( wah kya logic hai ) Then by ur logic jadeja shud be a bigger batsman than smith , i think he avg above smith in that position. Raina does well in t20 so he shud be legend compared to Smith, ab devilers, Younis khan , dhoni Bigg Brother 1

It will be interesting to see how he fares against Asif and Ehsan Adil.
HippoSucks Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 It is laughable to use Smith's overseas ODI statistics from 2 years back to undermine him. BlueBee and Rasgulla 2
Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) It is laughable to use Smith's overseas ODI statistics from 2 years back to undermine him. Not even two yrs back, these stats are from 2011. He was in side becoz they didnt have a leg spinner and he also cud hit a few at that time add his fieldingbut he was nt in team for his batting .This whole thread is nonsense, i rem such a thread made for virat kohli. As if none of earlier gr8 batsman few bad matches Edited March 5, 2016 by Ankit_sharma03
