gakgupta Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Again there seems to be a raucous in WI board. All the old players are demanding the board to be resolved. Just incase, if this goes to an extent where all the countires have to play as individual nations, does any one country has the quality to play good test cricket and make it into top 10. If so which country / countries?
kosingh Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 In test cricket they aren't good enough collectively, and you want them to play individually? 4 test series. India Vs Barbados. No thanks. HippoSucks 1
chewy Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Some of them will be competitive and easily beat associates along with Bangla and Zimbabwe. T&T: Dwayne Bravo, Darren Bravo, Badree, Narine, Kevon Cooper, Rampaul, Pollard, Emrit, Shannon Gaberials, Ramdin Jamaica: Gayle, Samuels, Russell, Blackwood, Santokie, Jerome Taylor, Nikita Miller, Barbados: Holder, Nurse, Dwayne Smith, Kemar Roach, Fidel Edwards, Benn, Carlos Braithwaite, Kraigg, Braithwaite Guyana: Bishoo, Reifer, Permaul, Hetmyer, Barnwell, Deonarine T&T looks strongest. Though in terms of T20, T&T, Jamaica and Barbados will be right up there with the best.
chewy Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 They do play as individual nations in their domestic 4 day competition.
Soorma_Bhopali Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 During the 1970s and 1980s, Barbados team was so strong that it could have easily been the best team in test cricket with RestofWestIndies as ssecond . IT used to beat touring teams easily in 3 day practice matches before the regular test series . However, it would be a bad idea if the individual caribben nations play test cricket. They will get trounced regularly. MechEng 1
MechEng Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Barbados seems to be the most economically sound country in West Indies, so they can afford quality cricket facilities. Jamaica has crime issues, don't know about T&T or Guyana. Edited April 21, 2016 by MechEng

Dude....when u play for a board you will not give ur 100% But if u r playing for a country, you will give 100% ....even though you are paid little less Same player when playing for his country becomes doubly effective How many times have u seen matches like Asian lX vs rest of world....in these kind of matches, players hardly care.....same thing is happening with WI....n on top of this they have issues with the board.... So Barbados or T&T can be better teams than WI....talent might not change but commitment changes Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
YCCC Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 It's like saying is any county or state team good enough to play internationally, as the individual islands make up the WI domestic system. The answer is no bulbul 1
