Rhea%20Signature%20Shot%20smaller%20web.gif Rhea (ancient Greek Ῥέα) was the Titaness daughter of Uranus, the sky, and Gaia, the earth, in classical Greek mythology. In earlier traditions, she was strongly associated with Gaia and Cybele, the Great Goddess and later seen by the classical Greeks as the mother of the Olympian gods and goddesses, though never dwelling permanently among them on Mount Olympus. In Apollonius of Rhodes' Argonautica, the fusion of Rhea and Phrygian Cybele is complete. (or) rhea-2.jpg Rheas, also known as ñandú (pronounced [ɲanˈdu]) in Spanish, or ema in Portuguese, are two species of flightless ratite birds native to South America – the greater or American rhea and the lesser or Darwin's rhea. The name was given in 1752 by Paul Mohring; his reason for choosing this name, from the Rhea of classical mythology, is not known. :D

On a slight tangent has anyone of you come across the name Kunti. She was a prominent character in Mahabharat and not all dark and evil like Dushassan, but have never come across that name.

Perhaps due to the story of curse of Yudhisthira because of Kunti, which he spelled on entire Women progeny that they won't be able to digest any secret:D...also uneasyness among people due to the fact that Kunti had a son when she was still a Virgin:D.

MM, these are real names in our village. And yeah, one more thing, such is the blessing of Lord Sri Ram in north India that you put Ram before anything and everything under the sun and you have a "cool", kosher name ready. e.g. Ram Khelawan, Ram Sikoran, Ram Bahoran, Ram Nahavan, Ram Siromani.... I say, shove these "modern" names and give me those cool UP type names any day...:hatsoff:

Rahul, Rohit, Amit & Ankit are the most common male names in India. Talking of names from the Mahabharata .. I knew a guy calleed Yudishthir (everyone called him Yudi) and a Nakul in college. Sounded cool.
