India’s GDP in Q4 grows 6.1%, loses fastest growing economy tag

ndia's GDP or gross domestic product grew 6.1 per cent year-on-year during the January-March period, government data showed on Wednesday. With this, India loses its status of the world's fastest growing economy. China's GDP grew 6.9 per cent during the same quarter.

Also gains from demonetization is less than expected. Government was not fully prepared to catch the guilty. All they got is not even Cherry, Whole cake of Black money went unaccounted

Bounce back from what ? Economy is chugging along... Not 9-10% as many expected. But you can thank the congis for poisoning the well for that .

Consider yourself lucky that oil prices fell when they did. Otherwise , Indian economy would have been hit with a double whammy of no private investment and no public investment due exploding deficit.

Bounce back from impact of demonetization. Any loss in ground to be recouped by 2019. Beat the best expectations ie 7.2-7.5% in 2017 and 7.7% in 2018.

Its not a case of Modi and Co can do it. Its a case of must do it. Lets not compare to Congress era. Modi has himself as competitor.
