Dinx - the Jinx Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 (edited) Hi guys - I am from Bangalore and I have made my plans to goto Mumbai for the test match. I have booked my flights. I will be reaching Mumbai on the 7th Dec and flying out on 12th Dec. I kind of know that the match wont go the full distance, in which case I'll use the remaining time on other activities. I havent booked match tickets. I think I can get it every day morning at the ticket counters. I have been to Mumbai few times but on office work. I never had to book hotels etc on my own. This time around it will be at my own expense. Need some inputs from Mumbai folks on what are some budget hotels not very far from the Wankhade. Also, whats the best way to commute back and forth for the 4-5 days Edited November 17, 2016 by Dinx - the Jinx tweaker 1
Dinx - the Jinx Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 Welcome the idea. Not sure anyone would invite me to stay with them for 4-5 days ;) By the way, I am 30+ so college kids may not find my company interesting. Anyone in the 28+ age group with a couch to offer?

Dinx - the Jinx Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 What is the weather expected to be like in Dec? Should I look to book an A/C room or non-A/C would do. For better part of my stay, I'll be in the stadium. I will go to the hotel only for sleeping and shower.

Wankhede is in South Mumbai (the old British Bombay) so you will be in midst of a concrete jungle, I live in Northern Mumbai suburbs where the weather is generally pleasant. In case you easily get sound sleep then non A/C is fine or if you're sort of insomniac go for A/C rooms. Do get a mosquito repellent ointment/coil/liquid with yourself when you come here.
sandeep Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Non AC rooms in India would signify much lower quality no? Questionable hygiene? I can't really say because have been out of Bombay for more than 2 decades. Enjoy Dinx, I have a feeling you will get to see a daddy 100 from either Rahul or Rahane. Or both.
Mariyam Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) You can find quite a few hosts using airbnb in the immediate vicinity of the Wankhede stadium. Procuring tickets shouldn't be a problem at all. Many a times they'd just let you in free of cost too, if you can pull off looking like a college/school kid. Hardly anybody watches tests in Mumbai anymore. Edited November 19, 2016 by Mariyam
