India is one of them. Can't compare a general country wise safety problem of women in general with crimes like kidnapping , robbery. Crimes against women happen in India everywhere...in their homes, neighborhood, schools, trains ...everywhere. It is a part of life . Besides Nigeria is hardly a place we should compare and feel better about. Just like pakistan is not a place we should be comparing ourself to feel better. Most places are unsafe for everyone. India is a bit more unsafe for females not just because of sexual crimes( which is common everywhere to varying degrees). It is unsafe because of the way they are considered more disposable by their own families and society. Female feoticide, dowry deaths, domestic violence, social oppression for rape victims , honor killings ,regressed thinking ....all these are realities of our country that make it more unsafe than most places.
