Task master coaches have problems with superstar players. Not sure there are any superstars left in Indian cricket once (once Virat and Rohit retire from ODIs). Guys like Gill and Hardik are the current stars but perhaps not at the level of Tendulkar, Dhoni, Virat, Rohit. A task master might just work with the current lot of players. Gambhir's problem wasn't that he was a task master. His problem was that he wasn't a great thinker. Really struggled with strategy.

Laxman isn't doing a great job with NCA, under 19 and India A. Not sure he is the guy.
