Thanks One good thing about us getting into the WC I now don't have to suffer the concrete dust bowl Modi Stadium here in Ahmedabad watching WC games . This trip I have enjoyed DY Patil stadium one hundred times better than Modi Stadium and Vadodara new stadium , a topic when India Women won the WC this should be their number 1 stadium ( Fortress )

It has been cold here in Ahmedabad, was in Navi Mumbai first and it was warmer there , Never been to Kolkata so all new to me , all the old cricketing centres of chenia , Bangalore, Mumbai and Ahmedabad have all been very different cities so looking forward to Kolkata. One of my good mates ex Gujarat player I played with is going with me so I have decked him out in Scotland t shirts so at least two Scottish supports now lol. This mate of mine just happens to be Axar Patels father they went to school and college together , honestly I haven't told him what ICF says about his son

Thanks very much , I packed my Scotland top this trip so it won't be difficult to spot the old white man in a pink Scotland top on tv lol We still think we would have beaten England last world cup if rain hadn't abandoned the game , west Indies we have beaten twice in WC qualifiers and how we got beat from Italy in qualifiers no one knows so quietly confident we can do well . It's certainly a bonus for me as I was all set to watch South Africa here in a couple of games in Ahmedabad before going home on 15th .

Going to be at least Scottish fan there , booked my flights from Ahmedabad to Kolkata today

None of them are fulltime , all have a second job mostly self employed in some kind of capacity because a Scottish fulltime contract is not enough to live on .

Regarding the players , they had just pulled off probably the best win ever in women's cricket against the best womens team ever not just in cricket but in women's sport . In a final a lot of things come into consideration on how individuals/ teams play and win or lose but how they celebrated in the semi final is not one of them .

Who is this " we" you keep mentioning ? What in your opinion is " minimal celebrations" ?

Wow some best womens finisher !! She has played 11 odis with a best of 7 not out with a total of 15 runs . Her last ODI cap was 2016 Her T20 record is not much better , an average of 22 highest score 64 A couple of WPL innings doesn't make her one of Australian finest . Mandhana, Kaur and Rodrigues play innings Harris can only dream about in her wildest dreams.

You mean T20 World Cup winners 12 months ago ? This from domestic set up of part time cricketers and a population of 5 million . When was the last time India women won a WC ? My question would be why is India women so poor with all the money floating about and a population of 1,4 billion ?

I have attended the hundred each year and was at Vadodara edition of WPL this year and the WPL is a more intense better standard which those Indian players contribute to . More of an interest was that i stayed in the same hotel as the Delhi Capitals and saw them up close each day . My take was that being with and coached by foreigners was a huge experience for the Indian girls , making friends, coming out of their shell , being less shy all helped their on field performance. An Indian only environment inhibits the Indian women to be the best version of themselves especially with a temperamental captain who constantly looks for people to blame not encourage

Yup .........but look on the plus side a mega WPL auction in November and just watch those same girls go for cores and cores . Not only is Kaur the biggest fraud in women's cricket but the most disliked too ànd Mandana is not the answer to replace her

She was one of the foreign players at RCB two years ago . Played in England , plays in WBBL . She has always been a very decent bat and far too low at 8 , better bat than the wicketkeeper and Tryon but I think Woolvaardt picks pals before her in the batting line up .

The WBBL is not taking place it starts on the 27th . The tournament taking place is T20 spring tournament , domestic cricket doesn't stop because a WC is taking place , is every woman cricketer to stop playing cricket because 15 are out of the country ?
