Shubman and Jaiswal should make their due return to T20s. In tough overseas conditions like England and Australia, Abhi and Sanju will not be able to compete. Inspite of Abhi's fantastic century. Anyways, Shubman is the next captain. The rest of the Xi is pretty self-explanatory.

He must be the best bowler there is in ODI for India, but if a bowler can’t make match saving attempts at the boundary and catching, no matter his reputation he should not be playing over younger, hungrier fast bowler Harshit Rana, may man’s bowling with a strapped knee like others have said. How will he make nonchalant attempts on the field in key situations?

Gambhir is the coach and he has said that if a player is in good touch, they should play all formats. Play for India all-year round. All of whom you mentioned, except SKY and Ishan Kishan can be good all-format players. Dhruv Jurel, Gill, Bumrah, Jaiswal, Sundar, Arshdeep, Axar, and Rinku would make a fantastic core team in all formats. Can there be a mix of both? All-format players and others selected directly from the IPL or Ranji Trophy. Format-specific teams will involve managing 30-40 players for the NCA.

Or make Harshit bat at No. 5.

Money and single digit. Both show affinity to Kohli.

Just in, KL Rahul set to play the next round of Ranji.Highly likely, according to Cricinfo.

I don't think who the captain is, matters much. He never deserved a spot in this team which is what he is insecure about. -

I just wish Gill and Jaiswal open the batting. They will be an awesome pair. It doesn't matter who captains or vice-captains the team. Rinku Singh and Dhruv Jurel have been absolutely robbed. They are at the peak of their batting abilities and should've been played in ODIs. Similarly, NKR and Siraj have done nothing wrong and deserved a place. Alas, Ro-Ko-Pant continue to get the limelight. ICT are not even trying special spinners apart from Kuldeep Yadav, who failed to show at WC '23. Varun Chakravarthy and Kumar Kartikeya are options to be had. Anyhow, I only hope the team follows a batting-hard strategy: Gill, Jaiswal Rohit Sharma, Jadeja, Kohli KL Rahul, Sundar, Hardik Pandya Shami, Arshdeep, Kuldeep They lack power-hitters: Hardik isn't at his best, KL Rahul doesn't have the strike-rate in ODIs, and Rohit Sharma can't hit sixes like he used to. The difference between his and Rinku's speed shows ICT's priorities. Shami has hopelessly gained weight, so I hope he can field well in the CT. -
Late 130s for now

They won Syed Mushtaq Ali AND Vijay Hazare Trophy within the last 10 years. Please retract.

WK - Rishabh Pant C - Ajinkya Rahane Sai Sudarsan Yashasvi Jaiswal Dhruv Jurel Rinku Singh Nitish Kumar Reddy Washington Sundar Ravindra Jadeja Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Siraj Without Ro-Ko, they should play this team. I know Ajinkya is not even in the team, but he's the best captain India has had.

Yo, T20 needs to be separate from Test players as you rightly said. This should be there in domestic cricket as well. Both types can play ODI, which will become more fun as we see a meting pot of the older format (5-day, 4-day) and the newer format (T20, T10, Hundred) players. It will be the neutral party, a competitive zone. For people to show and hone their skills. It will really revive ODI cricket, if this rule is applied.

Dube would’ve been better here. At least he would’ve troubled the bowlers with the cement he uses on the pitch.

This is what happens when people ditch IPL, they become another company’s salesman

He is quite selfish. Just look at that video where he boasts to Riyan Parag about his off spin bowling in that he got Nicholas Pooran out, in a slightly confrontational manner. No doubt he good, just don’t let him near a T20 in Indian colours.
-
Yo, they have a long lineup. Nevertheless, the whole selfless cricket thing IS not caring about the wicket. Risk reward is high in T20x
-
Ideally, no. It will only slow everyone else down. Both need to try and hit. How is it fair for only one player to go for the big hits. Wickets don’t matter in these T20s and we have Ramandeep coming up. I’d rather Tilak get out trying to hit it outta there.
-
And there you go, already started their tuk-tuk. Moment India are making headway in playing a new brand of T20 under SKY. We all know through so many discussion that there is no space for an anchor in this format. Tilak is not a SKY nor a Ashutosh, nor an Abhishek, or a Rinku. We need hitters, and Tilak is awfully weak for T20. Sometimes one hits and other takes rest, then the other starts. They’re not going to get a big score scoring ones and twos.

I don’t know what they were thinking in making Tilak Verma captain. Might as well have given Rinku time for form and experience. Maybe be forward looking but I can guarantee Tilak’s innings will be Babaji ka thullu. He is a gun ODI player and don’t know what Agarkar was trying to do forcing in different formats. At some level it is also IPL teams’ fault. Giving players like Tilak who don’t have a T20 game so much limelight is really backward. We all saw how Tilak struggled in tough pitches and his inability to chase any high score and up strike rate not only in MI, but in the handful ODIs he played as well. He is only great at strike rotation, that’s his game. Hope this improves sooner rather than later.
