Ian chapell- So often i hear people say what happened to gentleman's game. I look at them and say to myself you idiot dont you know anything about the history of cricket. Where did cricket started?? It started in Pubs with gambling .....so it was never a gentleman's game and it never would be . Anyone who thinks that is an idiot........

Hahahahaha Chappell take on gentleman's game is so refreshing and i have been wanting to hear that for long..............

Chappell is dead right.  A casual internet search will show that the game in its early days was hugely influenced by gamblers and betting syndicates.

No wonder this sports is riddled with corruption and match fixing. Tbf even soccer has issues nowadays, but it is much cleaner than cricket will ever be.
