I agree but a balanced attaced with be around 30 overs with pacers and 20 with spinners as we all know Pak finds it hard to rotate strike and spinners can play well

30 overs of seamers -  Bhuvi , Bumrah , Shami primarily

20 overs of spin  - if we have only one of Ashwin and Jadeja then we need atleast both Yuvi and Jadhav if not to pick wickets but to contain - similarly to what Shoaib and Hafeez do for pak - if not to pick wickets atleast go for Econ of around 5 or under

If he does , he's an idiot.  There is no way Pandya should be our 3rd seamer - he will release all the pressure created by Bhuvi and Bumrah , we need a 3rd specialist seamer and we have Shami and Umesh both sitting on the bench

It used to be the same way with Dhoni. We would discuss a lot of things about changes but Dhoni will go with the same team - in the name of winning combination. Hope Kohli doesn't do the same

Highly unlikely that we will see any changes unless injuries.

Even VK at the press conference hinted on the same team.

Pandya's problem as a bowler is that he is coming to bowl after tight spells from Bumrah and Bhuvi....he is known as the nonspecialist 5th bowler....and is being targeted by the opposition. Most of his short balls are good ones.

 

That means, risks are being taken....which are sometimes bringing wickets but sometimes catches are being dropped.

 

We should improve our catching.

On a flat wicket if Jadeja is hammered like against SL, I am sure Ashwin will better Jadeja in getting hammered. Playing same team would be a big gamble. We may struggle for a third seamer. Shami should play in place of Ashwin. Chances of anything other than very good batting conditions is very less.

Yes. We need a third seamer . If we defend this will kill us . The wicket will ne new and flat. Its a deathbed for bowlers while defending
