Same argument can be used to defend Yuvi's selectioln - he's also done well with the ball in the past.

Regardless, the Raina for Jadeja argument you guys are making is flawed.  It should be Chahal/Kuldeep for Jadeja.

It is a bizarre argument. Cannot fathom how a bowling all-rounder (albeit a poor one in ODIs) can be replaced with a batsman who bowls part-time. As you said, it should be Kuldeep or Chahal instead.

He put on too much weight, the long rope couldn't hold him up any longer. :cry1:

So did Yuvi

The short ball killed his career.

in Tests yes but in ODIs and T20s hes always been a good player

Only if he was not teased with the short ball

He can play short ball in LOIs as most pitches are flatter n there is a limit on bouncer barrage.

He has been working hard on his fitness, he is looking a lot better he looked in last few years. He is only 30 years old, someone who is really good at making 30s-40s at good strike rate. He would be a good addition to team if fully fit for WC 2019.

People don't realize this but he is a MUST in english conditions. Would be much more successful than Yuvraj and/or Jadhav there. Hell make KL the keeper and get Raina in Dhoni's spot. Pant, I feel is not ready. Needs more time and games before he can play in a major tournament.
