Indian Cricketers Are Likely To Feature In BPL 2017 Edition

Indian cricketers are likely to be permitted with NOC (No Objection Certificate) by BCCI (Board Of Cricket Control For India), regarding their participation in foreign cricket leagues. Currently, they are disallowed to play in any other leagues except the homely based franchise league IPL (Indian Premier League). The discussions centered on this particular matter were already on since former board president Mr. N. Srinivasan lost his official powers.

Thereafter, with former president late Mr. Jagmohan Dalmia’s succession, the Indian cricketers were on a definite note expected to be green signaled for playing in worldwide leagues. But somehow, due to various interior disputes & the president’s passing away made the disallow on the players stay yet to be uplifted. But now, with the recent removal of Anurag Thakur & Ajay Shirke from the board operations, resulting to the complete end of the Srinivasan’s tenure has brought in a new ray of hope. Previously, in the inaugural editions of leagues like the BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and BBL (Big Bash League), several franchises expressed their wish to rope in Indian cricketers to their unit.

Former greats Sachine Tendulkar was the most demanded stars, if not as a player then at least as an ambassador to their teams. But unfortunately, those days they were forbidden by BCCI from receiving an NOC. Last year, things started to change as the Indians dominated the overseas recruitment in DPL (Dhaka Premier League) & a total of 22 cricketers from India turned out to play in the league that consisted the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Manoj Tiwari, Yusuf Pathan, Rajat Bhatia, Manvinder Bisla & others.

There was a time when players like Raman Lamba, Ashok Malhotra & Arun Lal regularly played in the DPL. But with the progress of seasons, the Indian cricketers were actually taken out of the equation by the board. According to a recent report, Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan has been permitted by the BCCI in order to have the presence of his on field actions in the upcoming Hong Kong T20 Blitz, which is scheduled to begin from the 8th of March. This has made Yusuf Pathan officially the first Indian male cricketer to travel overseas for a franchise based T20 league turnout of the respective nation.

Yusuf has signed a deal with the Kowloon Cantons, alongside Shaid Afridi, Tymal Mills & Calum MacLeod. Other big signings within the league highlight the confirmations from Kumar Sangakkara, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Darren Summy, James Franklin & Johan Botha. Tim Cutler, chief executive of Cricket Hong Hong, thanked the BCCI for clearing Yusuf’s participation in the tournament and said his presence will be a big boost for the game in the country.

The BCCI is going to start their proceedings & carry on talks about their players’ regular outing in the overseas leagues in the next meeting. The eager wait by the fans around the globe with high hopes of a positive announcement by the board is presently sustained.

As if BCCI are gonna allow Indian players to play in domestic leagues of other countries :lmao:
