That's why pace bowlers should try and avoid putting on bulk.  Don't follow Akhtar's path.  Look at the great windies bowlers of the past, or Brett Lee. or Mitch Johnson.   Lean, wiry, hard dudes.   Not inflated bulky buffaloes.  

Him being bulked up is not related to his shoulder injury. It is an old injury that probably flared up again. He already had a surgery previously and he bulked up only after that.

Maybe not.  But I'm saying that excess bulk is not advisable for pace bowlers, and only increases the likelihood of soft tissue non-impact injuries.

When you select a 38 year old bowler in a format suited for young guns and have no balls to drop a past his prime great former captain there's no hope of seeing anyone from this thread being given a run in the playing 11. They will give a odd chance on odd pitches unsuited to the players flair like playing pant on slow low pitches and then drop them. Ashwin and Jadeja were mediocre for long and begging to be dropped for a good two year period and they were never odi greats for such a long rope.

Whenever this selection committee gets a chance to select a Iyer,Pant, Shankar,, they always mess up by selecting Karthik, Nehra.

These selectors r useless, imbeciles n don't have balls, the only reason some youngsters got chances in A teams n Board president teams is a lot of things coincided same time, A tours, BPs eleven n Duleep trophy so thier hand was forced.

This selection committee doesn't have the balls to rest or kick Dhoni, Nehra, Rahane n others, n recycling old failures then blooding new talent.It seems like musical chairs as far as selections, no direction, planning, just idiots who haven't even found answers for I Dias weak t20 batting, Middle order in ODi, selecting wrong players for wrong formats.

We see Dhoni sleeping on floor in airports and people think he's so down to earth...lol...how does he justify playing T20s for India.. that too with such poor record..
