Lala2790
Ishant's unco bowling style reminds me of @RPSinghalong's posting - wayward and frequently down the legside. Best thing India could do is put him aside and mark down the Ishant years as mistake that provided us all with a few decent lols Link to comment

But then even after gaining back pace in 2011 he was not able to get the ball to nip back in sharply like Asif which was his bigger strength than his pace. I remember an interview Manju had with Courtney Walsh in 2012 where Walsh pointed out 2 flaws in Ishant's bowling - wrist position and stillness of head while delivering the ball. And Walsh was right, just watch the video below at 0:58 and see how still Ishant's head is while delivering the ball: No he had started to imitate him after IPL 2009 and the first tournament was either WT20 or a one day series against WI in WI. Don't remember exactly. He was bowling at good pace in IPL but after that he changed his approach and in that process lost his pace and accuracy too. I remember i had said it on this forum even then in 2009. Link to comment

Ishant has mostly had a decent FC record over the yrs. However, that should not confused with his awful test record. The only worse fast bowler with >50 wkts that immediately comes to mind is Sami (the Pak one). Edited November 8, 2017 by Vijy Link to comment

It does not automatically imply that his test performance in the future will be bad. Many times he may not have picked wickets but provided valuable support role when Zaheer et al. are running through lineups. It is question of patience with Ishant and he is still not that old to be removed from the picture of international cricket. Link to comment

If a bowler can't avg <30, he should be booted out, let along averaging around 37 as this guy has done. Link to comment
renjith
Siraj trundles at 130 in first class. Only in limited overs his speed gOt to 140s. Not yet good for tests. Bumrah is the best option for 3rd seamer. But since he is not picked for sl series cant expect him to be in sa series. Link to comment
