fineleg Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Today Sehwag has played a great knock. But the rest of the batsmen #2 onwards, has let us down. Why is it that when it comes to our 2nd Inn, more often than not we are left tottering!?
Cricketics Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 REMOVE pathan, tendulkar = run out dravid = injured Gang - a bit unlucky Laxman = only one perhapz who failed in this inngz
The Outsider Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Errrr...maybe because if you understood test cricket better you would realize that batting on a last day wicket is not easy and at most one or two batsmen get in. Makes sense? Probably no.
sandtest Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 After condemning Boss for 2nd innings, Finey is still not feeling better:D

Makes sense? Probably no. I understand this shwetabh (even though you think I dont). But all I'm saying is we need to do better than this. I am not expecting 2nd Inn century many times. But a good 50, 60 is required from our top order batsmen unless its a minefield we are batting on.

I was not a frontline batsman by the time I got the opportunity to do so, but let me tell you it is bloody difficult.

Yes we should do better, we all would wish the best for our team but this is just a curse that our team will have to grow out of on it's own.

If other teams' can do better than us, then we can expect better too. So, maybe we need to see how Aus bat on this track and then judge? Would you call it fair then? You make a valid point as well. Yes we should do better' date=' we all would wish the best for our team but this is just a curse that our team will have to grow out of on it's own.[/quote'] Yes. But until then we (players and fans) continue to suffer in 2nd Inn.
Ram Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 We have lost just 3 wickets in 2 sessions play on day and you call that "top order letting us down" ? Excellent joke !

Australia is hardly going to bat on this track, but you and a lot of cricket followers discount a cracking pitch, which is a wrong read of the game. It's not a track where you are going to bowl out sides but it's not a track where you can score quickly either.
sreej Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 It's disappointing to see India just trying to survive...they should've attacked and set Australia a score to chase! Better go down fighting instead of playing so defensively...
fineleg Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 :D For all the historic chase, this 4th Inn chase was more an abertation than what the Indian team has been used to. More often that not, we've been let down in 4th Inn. Recently - The Aus series and now has been a different thing so far.
