dial_100 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Rohit Sharma... will be playing all 3 forms of the game in next 2 years..
Mr. Wicket Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 made 39 today, still ended up scoring most runz in this first odi.. 39 was the highest score of the game... Any mention of how streaky he looked initially when Bracken swung the new ball, and the luck he had being dropped off consecutive balls? He did look among the better Indian batsmen, but that really was not saying much. Of the top 7, he and Rohit were the only one to make any impression and both of them had fairly streaky innings as well. Not a batting performance overall to take any positives from.
Cricketics Posted February 3, 2008 Author Posted February 3, 2008 i know and agree it wasn't the best of his knockz.. got lucky there with few chances.. but still.. i am really looking foward seeing him play against aussies and lankanz in remaining gamez..
fineleg Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 GG got very lucky today. Else there was no way he'd have made even 25.
msb1991 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I am a critic of Gambhir and think he should not be in the squad due to his technical errors and poor conversion rates, I will love to see him prove me wrong.
guju24 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Rohit Sharma... will be playing all 3 forms of the game in next 2 years.. i doubt about the test since his avg was 17 in last ranji...
King Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Gambhir is a very good player not to be scoring consistently. He looks pretty busy and aggressive. I suppose he needs to relax a bit more. He has all the shots in the book including the deft touches for quick singles. Despite all this he's been a huge flop. I've been watching him for over 3 years but can't remember many of his knocks. The one that comes to mind is the 100 he scored against Bangladesh last year that's about it.

ozindian Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 hmm GG has good technique...but the one player to look forward to is IShant Sharma...I went to the sydney test match - it wasnt just his bowling technique - his fielding and batting is very good too...the best of all is his never-die attitude...he will go places!
siddhu Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 GG's technique is more suspect than Sehwag and is over aggresive. More like a poor mans Sehwag. He is strong, square of the wicket on off side. definitely not as strong as SG was and definitely not as suspect as SG was on the leg side, once upon a time. anyway, the point is he would perform well on single paced slow wickets, but definitely struggle in swinging/bouncier conditions. Hope he does well on this tour. Other players that I hope to do better are Tiwari, both sharmas and of course UV and Dhoni.... Also hope that Sehwag comes back as he did in Tests...

I.S.' fielding was "good"? :omg: he is one of the poorer fielders in our side

Another useless 27 off 38 balls Gautam ? i'll take you on i think he will play a useful knock here.
