He has mainly kept to under 19 bowlers on the games telecast on TV, but even though early to say but his wicket keeping skills are exceptional for this level.

Also his batting approach to stay on the wicket and grind out the tough phases like he did in the quarter final and again yesterday in the finals shows the guy has a good mindset.

I am getting the feeling that he is going to push Pant and Ishan Kishan or other wicket keepers down the line a lot to earn their slotnin the Indian team.

It will be nice to see where he is at a year from now but having a competition among wicket keepers is healthy sign for Indin cricket.

Post 2019 world cup, which is an year away from now, we will need such fight between our keepers for our ODIs and Test teams nd there won’t be just Pant fighing for the spot. There would be many I believe for different formats.

Desai will play for India in tests matches for sure 3-4 years from now.

He is a good hitter. As he grows up his hitting will get better due to more strength. Reckon ODI and T20 will suit him more.

May be. His ability to stay on the wicket and  form partnership shows that the guy has a good mindset of taking his team out of the whole. That can help when a keeper comes to bat at 130-5 in a test match.

Good that our future keepers have such mind set.

His knock in quarter final, albeit not big, was pleasing to watch and then he did it again.

he seemed more of a tuk-tuk batsman to me (not meant as a criticism). I thought that his game seems more suitable for Tests and perhaps ODIs. started off slowly and didn't rotate strike often too. The good thing is that he can bat in top 5 which is what we need from a keeper and also seemed to keep well (but missed a chance today). he will face competition from pant/kishan who are more flashy, although desai's keeping may be better slightly.

That can be taken as good at pacing batting innings as per situation. What is important is he got into a partnership which was good enough to win the match and he delivered. I saw one match when he played some wonderful shots. That bit was definitely power hitting.
