Dravid took on the responsibility of achieving an overseas test series victory and actually achieved it - WI 2006 and England in 2007. IIRC, the WI series win was the first overseas(outside subcontinent) victory in 20 years. And the win in England in 2007 remains the last overseas test series win. Just because he, Laxman, Sachin, Kumble etc are not vocal and animated on the field doesn't mean they don't have intense desire to win.

Not questioning Dravid's credibility here but those away series wins were easy, England was not a tough team to beat then. Also not to forget had it not been for Dravid's defensive captaincy we should have won the test at Oval ground and had it not been for rain at Lord's we would have probably drew 1-1.

What can we say? Kohli would have started same Eng series by dropping SRT (averaging 30s and 20s against Pak, Eng, SL, SA).

They were easy because we won them? In the WI series Dravid batted like a champ in both innings on a mine field of a pitch to help India win. The England team was not an easy opponent in their own backyard.
