Who is Gambit??
The guy from X-Men. He was getting bored of thieving and running into the cops, so he took up talking cricket on the internet. Don't tell anyone though...
http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/g/gambit.htm Gambit Real name: Remy LeBeau Former aliases: None known Identity: Secret Occupation: (current) Adventurer, (former) Professional Thief Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no criminal record Place of birth: New Orleans, Louisiana :haha: Marital status: Separated from his wife Known relatives: Jean-Luc LeBeau (father), Bella Donna Boudreaux (wife, separated) Base of operations: (current) Xavier Institute, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York State, (former) New Orleans, Louisiana; Paris, France; Cairo, Illinois Group affiliation: (current) X-Men, (former) Thieves Guild (New Orleans) First appearance: X-MEN (first series) #130 History: A homeless boy wandering the streets, Gambit was adopted by Jean-Luc LeBeau, head of the council of the Thieves Guild, a criminal organization based in New Orleans. As part of a peace pact between the Thieves Guild and their rivals, the Assassins Guild, a marriage was arranged between Gambit and Bella Donna Boudreaux, the granddaughter of the head of the Assassins. However, Bella Donna's brother Julien objected to the marriage and challenged Gambit to a duel. Severely wounding Julien, Gambit was forced to flee New Orleans to prevent war between the two guilds. Gambit wandered the world as he plied his skills as a master thief, aided by his mutant power to charge objects with explosive energy. He employed playing cards he charged with kinetic energy as his trademark weapon. At one point Gambit agreed to assemble the team of assassins called the Marauders for Mister Sinister. Gambit did not realize that Sinister would employ the Marauders to massacre the underground mutant community called the Morlocks. Eventually, Gambit encountered the X-Man Storm, who had been transformed into an amnesiac child and who had turned to theft. He helped her escape her enemy, the Shadow King, and they became partners. Later, when Professor Charles Xavier returned from a long period of traveling in outer space, Storm, having regained her memory and true age, sponsored Gambit's admission into the X-Men. Gambit has remained on the team ever since and fell in love with his fellow X-Man Rogue. Recently, however, Gambit and Rogue have grown apart. As for Bella Donna, she has become Gambit's enemy. Recently, the X-Men learned of Gambit's role in the massacre of the Morlocks. Guilt-ridden, Gambit has left the team, at least temporarily. In the alternate future in which the X-Man Bishop was born, Gambit has become an aged figure who witnessed the betrayal of the X-Men by one of their own members. Bishop suspected Gambit was the traitor until he learned how Xavier's mind spawned the malevolent entity Onslaught. Height: 6 ft. 1 in. Weight: 175 lbs. Eyes: Red Hair: Brown Stength: Gambit is a mutant who possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. Fighting skills: Excellent hand-to-hand combatant, utilizing streetfighting techniques and acrobatics. Special skills and abilities: Bilingual in English and French, ability to throw small objects, including knives, throwing spikes, and playing cards, with extraordinary accuracy. Known superhuman powers: Gambit has the mutant ability to tap into the potential energy contained within an object and transform it into kinetic energy. When Gambit thus charges an object with kinetic energy and throws it at a target, the object releases this energy explosively on impact. :nervous: Weaponry: Throwing spikes and playing cards.
My three-prong question; Have you ever gotten into a fight ? Was the dude bigger than you and did you win ?

=================== Lurker's questions =================== 1) Tell me the last time your boss gave you a look suggesting - You dont know what you are talking about, do you?? Happened quite a few times during my last annual appraisal. He kept giving me certain ratings which I objected to and I fought my case citing some completely embellished examples. 2) And who is better - Kapil or SRT I'll answer this seriously. Lurker, I have grown up watching(not idolising, because my idol was Azhar) SRT. I saw the fag end of Kapil's career(test series v SL) and it would be very unfair of me to judge him based on that. I have read of his exploits, watched highlights etc etc but simply put, I cannot identify with him as I haven't seen him play. with SRT, I have watched him, later idolised him. For me, he is the greatest cricketer ever. He is my hero and I cannot put anyone else ahead of him. 3) Does 3 make a crowd? Specially if the other two are CC and BB? 3 is not a crowd at all. The more the merrier. I am not a very good conversationalist and hence, I prefer going out in a large group. But with CC and BB, the only utility the third person will have will be calling the police/ambulance/FBI/National Guard/Canadian Mounties/RSS Youth Wing/Dalai Lama etc after 5 mins. :D 4) What has been your 3 top memories when it comes to cricket? And how many of those do you own in print/video etc. 1. India beating Pak in the '96 Bangalore QF. Nothing tops the high I experienced after that. 2. Australia-RSA tie '99 world cup. That was unreal. I went ballistic as I was a big Aussie fan then. (not anymore, not after Sydney). 3. Hero Cup India v RSA. Last over heroics from SRT. 5) The craziest thingy you have done for a girl. And how did it go? The craziest thing I've ever done is to forgive and forget only to pay for it later. 6) If you could make a dollar everytime you had to say, "Cut out religious discussion guys...", you would be.... not paying from my own pocket, as I am now, for BB/CC/DR/KR induced therapy sessions. 7) The next bakra/bakri you nominate. Dhondy. If he's already been done, then coffee_rules =================== Dhondy's questions =================== 1. Why do you want to go back to India? Although I've spent about 5 years in the West, mentally I imagine it as an extended stint. I've never identified with this place. The west never held any sort of charm for me and India always beckoned. Going back was always part of my plan. Earlier it was largely an emotional decision but now it is a practical(work wise) one as well. Heck, I never wanted to leave in the first place. Now, it's only a question of when. 2. Are you an aethist? No, not at all. I believe in God and I am a very selfish believer. I remember God only in the time of need. I don't believe in outwardly religious practices like going to the temple, observing fasts etc. I prefer to keep my religious beliefs and sentiments private. 3. You are a single child. Correct? Yup. Between 5-6, we lived in a fairly remote area and I didn't have any friends. I used to talk to myself a lot then. Some of you think I was/am loony :bird: but I loved it! I was my best friend. 4. If you could change one thing about ICF, what would it be? I love the fact that there is sense of ownership and community. Loyalists take pride in brand ICF. :icflove: The one change I'd like to see on ICF are more balanced and reasoned political debates and not flamewars. 5. Who's your role model? My father. I've always aspired to be more like him but have failed miserably. He has achieved so much in life and if I were to achieve even 30% of that, I would be very satisfied. People do say that I've got his wit. :D =================== Cricketics' questions =================== ---what made u move to england????are/were u on student visa?? Was on a student visa, now working. I moved because I got a scholarship for a decent engineering program. ---if u get to get to go India tomorrow, whatz the first thing u will do or plan to do in India??Join a cricket club??look for old Gf?? anything else?? The first thing I'll do is go out for a cup of tea at 2 in the morning followed by paan. That CANNOT be done anywhere else in the world! :two_thumbs_up: ---if u plan to settle in India, where would u prefer staying?? Delhi or Jharkand or any other place??? Preferably Delhi but I'm not fussy. --- Your fav Indian dish?? Butter Chicken with Roomali roti. On the veggie side, dosas with spicy sambar and hot onion chutney. ---if srilanka is playing against pakistan.. and muralitharan getz to bowl his spell... what would u want to happen??Murali fackin up the pakistan batting order or pakistani batsmanz getting the better of murali???? p.s - this question is up because i heard u hate murali a lot.. LOL. Good question. I would prefer to see Murali running through the Pak lineup. ---- if u get to act in bollywood movie, whom would prefer as ur co star???? Amrita Arora/Celina Jaitley. Preferably in a fairly graphic movie that explores the dark side of Indian female bi-sexuality. :D --- one destructive word u would like to give to the so called "Balaji Telifilmz" for producing crap tv serialz in India??? I think Indian women should feel very very offended at the way they are potrayed in these shows. But even though I despise such shows, I have to admit that they are very very interesting. I was watching a couple of episodes once and I was hooked. Thankfully, I managed to wean myself off them before I impaired my intellect for good. :nervous: ---- if there is a WWE TAG team match here on fs4u between 3 teamz - predz/dsr V/S dada rockz/Bossbhai V/S CC1981/Rajeev whom would u support and why???? What is fs4u?? Given a choice, I'd support Predator and dsr because they are both loonies who would do absolutely anything to win. What would be really interesting thought would be to see what Rajeev would do when CC is getting pounded by DR and BB. :hysterical: ==================== Mandrake's questions ==================== From where do you come up with such "stomach-aching" humor? Thanks for compliment Mandrake :D . ICF is the perfect platform for my puerile sense of humour, that comes naturally to me.:D Are u an extrovert? Certainly seem like one.... I'm not an introvert nor an extrovert. I do enjoy meeting people and going out but in moderation. I like to have time to myself as well. ==================== Predator's question ==================== My three-prong question; Have you ever gotten into a fight ? Was the dude bigger than you and did you win ? I have gotten into very few fights, not more than 5 but one does stick out. It was my first day at a new secondary school. The class bully(I didn't know who he was) came up to me during recess and introduced himself as the 'Undertaker'. He then put my head in a headlock and started to squeeze the life out of me. This guy was nearly 1.5 times my size but I tripped him and then started beating him with a ruler. :hysterical: The class monitor broke up the fight and later told me that I'd taken panga with the class bully who had a big 'back'(lots of henchmen). I nearly shat myself. Thankfully, not much happened after that. Apparently, I had gained 'Undertaker's' respect and he never troubled me after that. ==================== coffee_rules' questions ==================== List of your favorite movies (hindi and english) English - One flew over the cuckoo's nest,T2, As good as it gets,The Omen etc etc Hindi - Deewar,Anand,Kaala Patthar,HKA.DCH etc etc food talk - why type of cusiine you like? My favourite cuisine is Indian. On the veggie side, I love South Indian food and on the non veggie side, Goan/Kerelaite/North Indian food. what is it that draws you to India (childhood nostalgia or basic identity)? Bit of both. I've spent my formative years in my country and it's the only place I can identify with. It's the only place where I feel a sense of belonging. BB or CC? BB, anyday of the week. beer or wine? (not for taste, but for talk). Wine. I have an intense dislike for beer. I just haven't cultivated a taste for it. I prefer wine and whiskey. Drinking wine does lead to a smoother conversation IMO. ==================== kabira's questions ==================== best srt innings? Choosing one from so many gems is so difficult! In ODIs, I'll go for an oft forgotten one. His 97(78) v Pakistan at Dhaka in 1998(first final of the trination cup). He just carted Saqlain, Mushtaq and Afridi to all corners of the ground. In tests, I'll go for the 169 v RSA at Newlands.Counterattacking at it's awesome best. ==================== Rajeev's questions ==================== 1) Are you UK Resident or just student? if student, how did yo come about picking UK I was a student, now working. I came here because I got a scholarship for an engineering program. 2) Regular Question - Would you settle back in India Yup. No doubt about that. 3) You also seem from an army family ( like Varun ), were you ever tempted to join the forces? Not really from an army family but I have thought about a career in the armed forces, though not very seriously. 4) How many cities have you lived in India About 5 or 6. 5) Have you met Dhondy yet Nope. Would love to though. 6) Tell us 2 things you never shared with us I walk with a limp and I'm bald. Just kidding :D I am an avid photographer and I've clocked 81 mph in the nets. 7) Humor comes natural to you, are you a shy person though? I am not shy but I am not very outgoing either. Firmly in the middle. ==================== PaiN_KiLLeR's questions ==================== What do you do for a living? I work as an Engineer for a telecoms firm. Has your humour ever landed you in big trouble? Yes,there have been some instances. But I am a master of changing the topic of conversation and that came in handy whenever I realised a second later that I'd made an inappropriate joke. Has any defeat ever hurt you so much that you considered to quit following cricket forever? The '96 semi loss and '05 Bangalore loss to Pak were particularly painful. I was on the edge. If you were to be reborn as a cricketer, who would it be? Shane Warne. Wickets and women came to him easily. :D (from shallow hal) - Given a choice, whom would you marry - a female with one boob or half a brain? (staying single or killing yourself is not an option). WTF? I guess I'll go for the second option as I am very shallow and physical deformities can be off putting. ==================== marirs_mania's questions ==================== -- What do like most about living abroad ? I've even accessed ICF from it lots of times. If someone wants to know how, just ask me! What is the funniest word you ever heard? Diddly :hysterical: (yes, I'm easily amused!) ==================== apocalypse's questions ==================== Any special thing you did in RKP? Smashed one of the fancy green marble blackboards during a fight. Barely managed to escape suspension. Any special incident you remember there? The vice-principal, while introducing the Chief Guest at the assembly, telling the students what a great lady she was and how he would now narrate instances of her greatness and expose her bit by bit. PHEW!
