Yes, great T20 player for us but world XI not sure. I wudnt talk about technique in T20s, Gayle is as bad against good quality pace bowling . Raina hasn't been the same player in last 2 years, but along with yuvi he's one of the few batsmen who could hit out from very first ball and he was our best T20 player for a long time. I value that a lot more than consistency in this format. Yeah agreed we cannot ignore his form lately, but him being picked for world 11 is not surprising imo philcric and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment

Sunil Narine is better, has a longer history, and is even a gifted batsman now! Gul is overrated by the cricinfo jury, I much rather have an allrounder like Watson/Andre Russel at that spot, or a far superior bowler like Starc, even BK is better than Gul Rohit is ok, but Warner is arguable with him, but neither has great numbers in international T20s iirc Dhoni also weak number wise in internationals, it is probably better to make McCullum or ABD the keeper of the side instead and add a superior batsman My edited team 1. Gayle 2. Watson 3. Kohli 4. AB 5. Raina 6. McCullum (wk)(c) 7. Andre Russel 8. Bravo 9. Narine 10. Afridi 11. Malinga Batting power until 10 and 6-8 bowling options(Gayle and Raina are good part timers) Except for AB the team is good. Link to comment

Interesting, I think it is the opposite, Kohli has such a great average in the WT20, I think his overall numbers underrate him, iirc, the last WT20 he averaged around 100, and we made it to the SF Link to comment
Zero_Unit
Who has a better record of being a captain in t20 tourneys, Dhoni or Sammy? Keyword: captain and not player. Player wise, Dhoni > Sammy throughout their carrier. Link to comment

Tibarn
Let's see what the batting would look like if we only included stats from the WT20 A settled top 4 of M. Hussey Gayle Kohli KP 5, 6, and 7 are harder to pick Jayawardene and White average over 35 with SR over 130; Jayawardene is an opener so he doesn't fit, White doesn't pass the smell test and he has 6 NO in 13 innings, inflating his average. Most of the players with high averages ie Duminy and Rohit have lower SR, under 130. The remaining players with over 140 SR are Maxwell 29@ 160, Watson 28@ 140, ABD 30 @ 143 The WK options, Dhoni and McCullum are both basically the same, low SRs below 130, Dhoni averages higher but lower SR, vice versa McCullum. ABD is better than both it looks like. M. Hussey Gayle Kohli KP ABD(WK) Watson Maxwell Edited June 24, 2018 by Tibarn Link to comment
