Should top order be changed for easy chase/inconsequential games

Rohit and Dhawan keep opening for almost every game even if its a dead rubber or the chase is simple.

And mostly they never miss out on easy runs like this.

This leaves middle order untested for important games.

I doubt if rohit and dhawan get out in first fiver overs then we have middle order to chase 180 - 200 runs. They will easily choke.

Definitely ...... I don't think openers need to be  changed because it is a special slot. Other slots need to be changed based on situations.

This will give enough real  match practice experience for all batsmen that will be good in the long run for tough high pressure matches and situations.

I would not play kohli at three. I would not play Kohli beyond 2nd game in fact. Give Kohli one more game and then let someone else play at 3 because this can be a really boring series then. Rohit is already scoring and Shikhar will join him soon and with Kohli already scoring we can be in for more mysery for windies bowlers. I am not that bif of a fan of enjoying Windies bowlers being taken apart on pure patta tracks where they are looking helpless.

 

Need to throw in some green ppitches and a 250 run track in few games or rest Kohli after 2nd game.
