Should Indian sports networks have non-cricketers as commentators?

Listened to Robin Uthappa on commentary for India vs Australia and he's bad too.

 

Why do we insist on having former cricketers as commentators regardless of whether they're cut out for it or not? Commentary requires a completely different set of talent from actually playing cricket.

 

Maybe we should take a page from the US where they have professionals dedicated to play-by-play commentary to call the action.

 

We have hundreds of millions of people who are crazy about cricket in this country. Surely we can find a few people who have the talent and skill to do decent commentary.

I would like to see Agarkar in the commentary box once in a live game and not just studio talk like he did for cricinfo.

Harsha was fine when he started but he got too big for his own good and started to think he is better than everyone else.

I don't understand the Harsha hate on this site at all.
