Isn't it more effective to field an eleven with as much as multi dimensional players??

 Where did I say that you are in favour of multi-dimensional players? I stated a fact that the great WI team of yore had neither a multi-dimensional player nor a spinner.

Surely we have different standards about 'great teams'.

 

 

I just said they did have a spinner. You dont call them great that is fine I think that was truly a great team.

 

Our standards are different. I also wish India would have won but it was close and India is #1.

yes viv for WI

waugh bros, clarke for Aus were their part timers who was a cushion incase needed ..which most days they didnt as they had World class attacks

 

Taking their examples is wrong as team dont have that sought of attack in 1st place, neither the fear which made opp loose the game before they stepped in the field

Even in Tests they sometime they only had to use 4 bowlers. THey had that luxury although Larry Gomez was not that bad a bowler. Even Lloyd bowled 12 overs in the world cup. I think our current crop can't bowl to save their life. Kohli after that horrendous encounter with Albie Morkel doesn't bowl anymore. Anyway it is good that he doesn't. He looks worse than Dhoni as a bowler. I am not sure what happened to Rohit as a bowler.
