What? Why should be do as others do? Focus on our strengths and rely on that rather than copying something we are not comfortable with.

Which lower order are you talking about, the one that didn't last half a session this test or the one that got repeatedly blown away down under? Picking so called all rounders just on the hope they'll contribute something extra is stupid, especially in tests. Even a part time a/r needs to deliver in one discipline consistently & I know ICF's favorite A/R doesn't do that!

They don't need to mimic any side, India strength is their top order and their spin twins.Both have to play and they need to stop looking for so called balance.

I think we need big hitters at 6 and 7 who can bowl a bit. If I have 5 bowlers who can't bat think about the pressure it puts on top order and number 5 and 6. We will psychologically only go for 275 targets unless we have 150+ opening partnerships . 

 

The game has evolved and big targets are in Vogue . For that 6and 7 have to have Sr above 150  in overs 40-50.
