Even @beetle was unhappy about him

Frustrated with him at times because what he did was so unnecessary. ....but I am a big supporter.

Most youngsters barring gill have had brainfarts.  But gill is a different kind of batsman . He is a pure batsman in the kohli mold where as rishab is a wktkeeper batsman probably closes to Gilcrist.

Would have been happier if he had finished the match with a few singles and doubles....instead of losing his wkt going for the glory shot.

Hardik Pandya was going for glory shots against CSK almost every ball in the final overs. Not everyone believes in stupid thala philosophy of making an easy chase interesting. Most new generation players want to finish off the games without any fuss. Pant brought DC into the game. When he got it was run a ball. It's not his fault remaining batsmen find even that difficult.

Therein lies the problem. It looks great when it works out but when you get out and the team loses, you will be grilled in the press conference. Pandya has the luxury of batting with Pollard. They dont usually go full retard unless the situation demands it. In the last match, Pandya didn't go for the glory shot and dealt in singles because the situation demanded it. That's experience.

Pant did a great job getting to run a ball and he got one six off Bhuvi already. There was no necessity in going for another one when you are 6 down and Mishra is up next. The situation was 5 off 8 and went to the penultimate ball. If he had played it smart, he could have finished it in the first two balls without losing another 2 wickets. DC supporters need not have taken the extra BP pill

you feel like that because DC lower middle order is poor with likes of Rutherford, Patel and Keemo.  while Indian team has Dhoni, Pandya, Shankar, Jadhav.  If a team cant score 5 runs in 7 balls with 5 wickets remaining, you will blame Some one who has 49 in 21 balls for that? Irrespective of what Lyon did, Pant was the second top run getter for us in the test series.

Did you watch the match. Rutherford and Patel were already out and he was batting with the last recognized batter in Paul. They were 6 down and next in was Mishra. This is the attitude of the 90s. Leave it to the bowler to finish a batsmen's job

Attitude of the 90s is thinking that your last 3-4 batsmen cant score 5 in 7 balls.

He can walk in only as a keeper. He is not a great fielder. He can't bowl. KL Rahul as a batsman will be more suitable for this side. Even KKD come in only when Dhoni is injured. In one dayers most of the time you need a sensible head as we have 50 overs. You rarely run into a situation where you need 13 an over in one dayer for a sustained period. Even in the recent 313 chase against Australia until Kohli was there required rate was only 7.5 with 13 overs to go. Then Shankar was joined by Jaddu. When Shankar got out RRR was 9 which was still manageable with 7 overs to go. Sadly there were no batsmen after Shankar. Shankar was striking at 106. Jaddu was striking at 77. We cannot load our side with only batsmen or only bowlers. Either one will come back to bite us. We cannot pick players for "unique situations" because of the fact our team has 9 one dimensional players who can't do anything other than their main roles.

Isn't that the case with our national side? Our last 4 cannot survive let alone score runs. Kumble/Srinath/Prabakar all are better batsmen than our current lot.
