Pandya_Power Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 I feel he has one big innings in store this WC. Just hope its during the KOs. Has done very well considering India's strategy of conserving wickets upfront - I do believe that the TM needs to find a better balance between the current strategy and better utilizing PP. I liked what I saw in the last game, although it was against Bangladesh. Maybe the defeat against England was the kick that Bangar & Co. required?

KLR has done alright in this WC, although he can do better. It is all about confidence and secure frame of mind. The guy has an SR of 149 in international T20 cricket which means a 50 in less than 35 balls, with two T20 100s in just 27 games. I hope he is persisted with and once he settles down, he will hopefully show his class. He can be a perfect #4 for us as he can hit big shots too.
VT87 Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 KlRahul has been pathetic so far in wc .his snail pace ings puts too much pressure on other players. He has 73.02 Sr which is lowest in among all batsman including dhoni.77(92),57(79),30(48) ...etc didn't help a team either.

I'm sure his stike rate had nothign to do with the Team's strategy of conserving wickets upfront Fans don't appreciate the huge shoes he has had to fill in when Dhawan was injured mid-tournament. Except England, the approach has worked perfectly. TM has become aware of the need to modify the strategy as was visible from the BAN game.

It's fine if there is some help in the pitch but playing with 73.02 Sr on these phatta is a crime.i can't understand this fuss about makeshift opener,he has played his entire cricket as a opener

vijay50 Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 2 problems with Rahul as opener 1) Unable to rotate strike fluently. Plays so many dot balls that builds pressure on other batters 2) plays at strike rate of 70s as a resulg of dot balls essentially slowing game down. Could be a problem in knockouts
