Jay Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 he certainly has some qualities that i admire and appreciate. he brings energy and is mentally strong. no doubt about it. He isnt meek like rahane in stature and presence. However, rahane just doesnt lose. Not sure how. Cant just be luck because he has won crucial games for us several times now. undefeated. But yes kohli is definitely a good test captain. good not great. poor LOI captain. My issue with kohli is his selections, favouritism, lack of ability to develop talent and his endorsement of sir/seniority culture. He wants to protect his spot in the team hence he condones the selections of even worse players to be absolved from blame. He seems to have finally figured it all out but he knows his days are numbered now because he himself is short on runs. Hopefully he can achieve another peak. Really hope he does but i am not sure he can. His physique just looks dead to me. No fight in his eyes. No desire to be the best anymore as a batsman. he still wants to win as captain though. Vijy 1

sarcastic Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 Big day for Virat Kohli coming ahead. A test series victory in South Africa is a dream come true. He may not be captain next time India tours SA. He has 110 runs in the bank and good fast bowlers that he can bank upon. If he somehow pulls off this defence and clinch the match and the series, his legacy as the greatest test captain that India ever had will be set for posterity. All up to him and how his fast bowling army that he has groomed over responds to the big challenge. Clarke 1
sarcastic Posted January 16, 2022 Author Posted January 16, 2022 Sad day for Indian cricket. Virat Kohli, potentially the greatest test captain for India resigns his position even though he has some more years of shelf life.
Number Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 (edited) It is the right time for him to leave. With him being the captain it will be tough to clear the dead weight because the kind of person he is, he will always stand up for his group (Rahane, Pujara). On topic tough to argue against it. And it is not like he got a great team when he took over. It was 7th ranked team which was total disaster in all its previous overseas tours. Edited January 16, 2022 by Number
