He can take chai......but unlike the aussie PM ,ours needs  extremely high security around him.

 

Even the aussie one is doing it for PR only...because it is not needed.They have a designated 12th man.

 

Don't take the public( PR) actions of politicians seriously...

If you believe the Indian PM would serve a young kid like Pant, drinks, then your sadly mistaken.

 

This is not the first time though things like this happen. Sure it is a publicity stunt but nevertheless, has it ever happened at international level in Indian cricket? No. Because it is too beneath them to do it.

Has an Australian PM ever been involved in “plogging” ? I guess when ours did we called it exactly as “publicity stunt” and wrote it off. Inferiority complex much?

Given this is a cricket forum. Lets keep it to cricket.

 

Australian PM's over the years have been involved in commentary, speaking to players in the change rooms, some have participate in matches.

 

What you need to realise and the rest of the Indians on here, is that cricket is NOT the biggest sport in Australia. Probably is the third most followed sport.

 

What is the third most popular sport in India? Then ask yourself if the Indian PM would do what the Australian PM does.

 

Also for the record, Australian PM's have always had a love of cricket. They have never been involved in publicity stunts as you say with games like Football and Rugby.

 

While Im not denying its a publicity stunt, Im just saying in Australia there is a relaxed situation towards those in authority and power.

 

India could learn something from this.

Oh he would if it got him some votes .

He would do it if it was considered acceptable by people. Most likely if he tries this stunt,people would call it unnecessary,misuse of power to get points through a popular game.

Why?

PM's job is to run the country well,not to bring water to players.

Indian PM has far more on his plate than the aussie counterpart.

I would rather the PM use his extremely precious time doing what he is supposed to do...i.e. govern the country.

 

I feel our PM is doing a better job doing whatever he is doing and these stunts are better left to PMs of countries that do not have so many pressing things to do on hand.

 

We need these stunts in other areas like basic sanitation and our PM is doing his bit to help the spirit on that front .

Cricket is the undisputed no.1 summer sport in Australia. 

 

Australian rules football (AFL) dominates the rest of the year. 

 

Rugby union is almost dead and no one cares about it. 

 

Soccer and rugby League (NRL) are on the rise but haven't yet reached the popularity of AFL and Cricket. 

 

So, it's wrong to conclude that Cricket is at no.3 in Australia. It's no.2 at worst.

Absolutely. The max Modi could do is wash feet of sanitary workers. I can see the Aussie PM totally do that. Serving drinks to Pant is asking Modi a little too much. [emoji6]

Are you the only person with access to Internet ? Anyone who has a cursory interest can findout about AFL and rugby league infact their cricket forums are subsets of afl forums.

 

On here is wrong english, saying that does not make you cool makes you look dumb.

 

Cricket is accorded unique importance in a multi sport country like Aus and probably is the most important summer sport thats something already. 

 

Modi can not and need not emulate the Aussie PM his 60 yearold midriff cant take the gentle 12th man drinks jog anyway.
