I didn't see them live either so can't comment on strike rotation or fielding but my impression of Vengsarkar is that he would absolutely bully the spinners in the middle-overs. Patil was of course a very dynamic player against pace and spin both. In the 1983 WC win, Patil was probably the most under-rated contributor with crucial scores in the the KOs and an overall SR of 90.

( Fast ) Sreesanth ( Fast-medium ) Sree n umesh are leak machines for short formats...more often then not they ll turn the game in oppositions favour . Wud hve given a thought had this been for australian conditions. Edited December 4, 2019 by Ankit_sharma03

Thala alone will win it BTW why is legendary Dinda not there in the team? The Dinda-Shami combo was a crucial factor when East Zone won their first title. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/8630/scorecard/523033/central-zone-vs-east-zone-final-duleep-trophy-2011-12 Ahhh those were good times ... And Saha scored a 170 in the final, no Thala anywhere ...
