I didn't see them live either so can't comment on strike rotation or fielding but my impression of Vengsarkar is that he would absolutely bully the spinners in the middle-overs. Patil was of course a very dynamic player against pace and spin both. In the 1983 WC win, Patil was probably the most under-rated contributor with crucial scores in the the KOs and an overall SR of 90.

Sree n umesh are leak machines for short formats...more often then not they ll turn the game in oppositions favour . Wud hve given a thought had this been for australian conditions.
