I have watched him and i have no reason to believe that he was quicker than Akhtar.

Akhtar also had a better record.

This thread is not about genuine pace only. It is about being lethal. Thomson bowled with intention to hurt batsmen and would not enquire if if there was blood flow due to his bowling. Akhtar and others have shown sportsmanship after the batsmen was hurt. Thomson and so.e WI bowlers would purposely bowl full toss with the intention to hurt. The bowlers of today are more soft in this aspect as they feel for batsmen's injuries.

Dude his final series wc 2003 he consistently hit 140+ when other speed demons like waqar and wasim trundled at 130. Srinath does not get his due as he was docile. But he was quick that too not consistently.

Watch the pakistan vs india match from the 2003 wc again.

Waqar was rarely clocked but did measure at 154 kph in England and 153 kph in Southafrica.

Moot point.  No one in history was as hostile as Akhtar/Thread.

Umesh hit 156 kph in test cricket? Nice.

Arrogance gets people nowhere. And its about time Pakistanis realize they are just making a fool of themselves. Quit living in the past. And no, Waqar was only quick for a brief period of time! Unlike Umesh!

Cant deny. Have to give it to Akhtar. No doubt he is loud mouth. But the guy has a heart. He would say words at batsmen, but I doubt he ever crossed the line while sledging too. One of the reasons why Shoaib Akhtar remains loved with fans like us uni vocally.

Honestly the most hostile fast bowler in the planet ever has got to be this guy.

Pace

Accuracy

Hostility

Lee was lesser in hostility but better in pace on avg but nest feature of shoaib was his accuracy those yorkers and bouncers.

Those Yorkers are missiles.

Even though batsmen are wearing helmets you see guys like Bumrah, Shoaib, Starc, Ferguson etc go to batsman who have got hit on helmet and ask if everything is fine. Some of the lethal previous era bowlers did not even ask batsmen even though they did not have helmets. Let us not forget the batsmen where being hit without helmet and in some cases without grilled helmet. There was much bodily damage being done that it is done today due to lack of safety gear in those times. The sportsmanship was clearly lacking by most pace bowlers. Croft once said that the batsman has a bat and it is upon them to bat well to avoid being bit. Such was the mindset of the bowlers. It had become so worse with "Body line bowling" that the rules of bowling had to be modified. The bowlers had to be curtailed in those times hence we see the change of rules which were made mandatory. Now the bowlers apologize on bowling even a chest height full toss unintentionally.
