In the 80s, Gavaskar probably averaged in 40s (was poor in 70s iirc. Hit that 36 not out  .... but improved as an ODI batsman in 80s. Hit a quick 100 vs NZ in 87 WC)

Looking at how the current top 3 bat, on these pattas today, Gavaskar would probably easily play 100 balls in almost every ODIs. So what would he avg now? 70-75?

65-70 is possible. And the strike rate wouldn't be too shabby either, because Gavaskar loved to play attacking shots as he showed towards the end of his career. In today's pitches, with close to zero threat from the ball in most matches, he would feast on the bowling at every opportunity.

Gavaskar would not have played 50 matches today, He never had attacking game, his attacking game was a forced one like Rahul Dravid. Both of them would not have played in this era.
