So he doesnt jump ahead of much talented and matured guys like KL, Gill, Vihari, even Iyer. He can be tried in LOIs at no.6 slot. Can he bowl decent off spin? Scoring big requires Temperament. So we cannot totally dismiss him. Not like others will be a sure shot success in Tests. Nothing wrong in keeping him in the radar. He is a very consistent batsman. His game allows him to be consistent. Even in the under-19 world cup he scored 50. Couple of them under pressure. mani sha 1 Link to comment

He has been playing first class . Just for up being back in aamchi mumbai I think so his game will be better heron certain players u pick on ability - rt now India needs players who can score fast in odi and maybe bowl . Sarfarraz , jaiswal , Ayer fit the bill sandsaims 1 Link to comment

Think he should be able to .. but boy oh boy - if he really continues his form I am sure this ipl will be big for him . we won the first t20 wc based on a young team .. Rohit helped us with some crucial cameos against top pace bowling to win the next t20 I think better to go with the shaw and khans rather than the jadhav and rayudus Link to comment

I know we have guys like Gill, Shaw, Agarwal in addition to the old timers like Rahane. But you never know when our players go out of form or pick up an injury. The thing is guys like Iyer would probably be playing tests for some other country. We don't even talk about a guy with an average of 52. Agree - Ayer is excellent . but what India lacks is a sehwag and a Yuvraj ... think khan and jaiswal might be good clones Link to comment

ShoonyaSifar
What an amazing season for him. Someone in Mumbai cricket should advise him to hire a personal trainer who helps him shed 5-6 KGs in the next few months, get to a proper nutrition plan and get fitter. Link to comment
MCcricket
Sarfaraz could be a once in a generation player, if Marnus was picked up for Australia and Sachin n Rohit, Virat he has for me broken down the doors. Fit he is, it is impossible to score such big runs at run a ball or else. He is just on stockier side build wise Link to comment

If he produces a similar blockbuster season next year, then he'd be tracked into the A team. The competition for batting spot in the team has never been this breathlessly crowded. Combine that with the team management's fetish with seniority/hierarchy, the chances for someone like Sarfaraz looks grim in near term. If everything goes well for him, he might get a debut in 2023/24. No sooner. The word fetish is so accurate Link to comment
