yes always believed he n rohit  were only 2 who had that extra gear like yuvi n abdv in middle, Rohit didnt work but Rahul looks at home in middle order.

We've lost games at the top, not in the middle order! The team that won 2011 WC had a great MO, but SRT/GG/Sehwag did perform in the KO otherwise our fate would've been the same as 2015-19 results! Now unless we're certain that Rohit-Dhawan or their replacement(s) will do the job as the 2011 top order did, our best bet is KL & for all those saying he's too cautious at the top did you not see that overpaid Bangar's interview just a few days back?

the thing is we have many options for opening - shaw, mayank, gill, samson, devdutt and guys like pant,kishen, abhishek sharma all can open

but there are very few options like KL in middle ill go to an extent n say none has that extra gear like he does may be only pant .

He surely can open and score but his impact looks more for middle order . I knw bangar told this but thats has been stuck in rahul head now as he batted same way for karnataka n ODI when even bangar was gone,

He's added a new dimension to his LOI batting. Time to use that to the team's benefit.

he always had it....he has scored a 100 at 4 in t20 cricket long back 

he wud bat diff at open as TM has told him and bangar talked about it in commentary

This series has done more good than harm for Indian team. We finally found a couple of capable middle order bats who can actually score rather than hide behind the top order and fck up whenver they get to bat. It's a positive sign. I wouldn't read too much into the result as this tour will only be remembered for the test matches and I hope we don't fck that up. But knowing brat, he might as well do that.
