But we saw the pitches and how everyone batted on it, so what is the point?

Again point? We know the scorecard and that Ind is 90/6 .... Is the topic about. how many each player scored or how not to play fast bowling?

ur point is based on one innigs so there is no point

its like khota saying dhawan is a good t20 player based on good innings

the point is u dnt like him so u wanna make nonsense point

habbit of overdoing nything - be it pandya cheerleading or degarding rahane or rohit.....

Rai ka pahad banana kehte hai isse

Question can be raised on his spin bowling coz it been seen for years but fast bowling discomfort on 1 innings is laughable

worse has been kohli with an avg of 9.5

Are we talking about averages? Or how the batsman handled bowling relatively?

You are bringing some random poster in ....  It appears as if you have nothing much to comment on the topic .... To summarize:

a) We know how the wkt is

b) We know how everyone else has performed

c) We know how many games youngsters have played

d) We know how many games Rahane has played

e) We know how Rahane did compared to others

The topic moves beyond those points

If u knw the pitch is spungy then how come ur questioning his ability against bouncer which he found tough today.....

If u knw the pitches u wud have known pulling hasnt been easy on such pitches

U knw all this but still dnt understand most important point never make assumption on one innings or match

So? Is the topic on my likes and dislikes? Aren't you here because you like Rahane and are readily attacking other players unnecessarily?

Again irrelevant comparison .... Rahane is clueless, which is what the topic is about

What is it that you want to discuss on Kohli and Pant? On Kohli, I have a thread on his captaincy, which I did not like. Pant is a youngster. I give more benefit to youngsters esp. U25. I mostly discuss experienced players.

I don't deny it had variable bounce also bouncer speeds also varied. Tricky to play pull shots. My problem is why was he attempting to play shots of every short ball. He could very well leave it alone as the bounce was unpredictable.

He was trying to showcase the Bombay "flair"

i think this series was all about mental toughness than any technique... Pujara ,Rahane , Kohli all should have shown steely resolve at times of 'back against the wall' .  But they failed miserably. Rookies  in the team can't be blamed much .They should be given further chances.  The fact that the experienced 3  could only average more or less the same as that of other 4( Mayank,Shaw, Vihari & Pant) in this series  shows as to how inadequate the 3 have been  w.r.t showing spine in times of adversities. This is where the previous generation batsmen  showed such grit. VVS was a master in that. Sachin, Dravid , Gambhir & Sourav all played  several back to the wall inns.Sehwag was another type of beast altogether.

I just don't recall any instance  in ' SENA + WI' where the team trailed by  fairly big margin   in the 1st inns and  either of   Pujara ,Rahane  or  Kohli  played an inns   to place the team in a comfortable position  for the other team to chase it.
