He has played only 2 tests in helpful conditions so obviously he will average 20 in last 2 years imo.

Fact is he only plays in helpful conditions. You will say how his home average is good then? the matches in which he has got alot wickets were helpful (6 Wickets 2016 NZ Eden garden, 8 Wickets at 2017 Srilanka Eden Garden).

Bhuvi has himself to blame for missing many tests in last couple of years. He had chance to play each test match in ENG & NZ conditions but he didn't take care of his fitness and kept playing IPL when he was clearly injured. Now don't tell me he is good for all conditions if he was he wouldn't have played just 20 odd test matches in last 8+ years.

And how many wickets did bumrah, shami and yadav take in recent helpful conditions? He was kept our of team intentionally by kohli who was focusing on pace and you know it. He should have played every test and you know it.

But both kohli and Indians fans became speed gun obsessed and paid the price in New Zealand. Speed gun doesnt give you wickets no matter how much we pretend and how much shami bullies aghankstan and west indies  batsmen

As for his injury although it was his fault too, the NCA did not diagnose his hernia for 2 years. This was posted in the pace thread but all the pace ka pujaris ignored it. If this was any other bowler, rkt, Express, you would have been all over it and abusing NCA. That day I knew how much each one of these just go by speed gun and have a blind hate for bhuvi. The NZ series was a good lesson for some of you about how movement, swing and other skills matters too

In helpful conditions is probably our best bowler along with ishant but he is pretty avg on other pitches and everyone knows this. Maybe he could have been utility player in test cricket cause of his batting but his fitness is concern as well. He could have done better than pandya as all rounder but his biggest issue is fitness atm.

Have you seen bhuvis stats in England? Red ball and white ball bowling are different. Many swing and seam bowlers who do great in tests struggle in LOIs

I know Bhuvi was phenomenal in 2014 test series matching Anderson almost everytime despite having little support from Shami.  But that series was long time ago.  Bhuvi used to swing the ball a lot those days even with white ball.  His desire to become T20 specialist ruined his swing ability.  He increased his pace & started losing swing from his arsenal.  That 2014 Bhuvi would've won us this NZ series easily.  But that Bhuvi is long gone. Best swing bowling exponent in India is currently D Chahar &  that is a fact.  Had he played in the NZ test series we could've won at least one game despite batting failure. We allowed Latham & Blundell to score runs in both inns of 2nd test & that was the difference in 2nd test. A swing bowler would've got them much earlier  & 60-70 run partnership in the Ist inn surely would not have happened.

His actual test stats prove you wrong. He has been a great red ball bowler, averaging 20 in the last 2 years he played, he averages 26 both home and away. You can have a bone with him and hate him but facts dont lie

tm suddenly deciding bhuvi will never play tests and only lois is one of life's mysteries. until that 2018 england tour - which he again missed because of playing stupid jamodis - he was our premier swing bowler in conditions like england and new zealand and had even proved it in the 2014 tour but since then has been completely overlooked. We could have used him in this previosu series too imo.
