If you were to consider a 5th bowler or a bowling AR, who would it be? 7 hours ago, Ankit_sharma03 said: but question are they are their best batting low ?? No not at all they were part timers n if its modern rules they wont stand a chance, part timers start to loose control after a point even from the 80s a lot of teams used this 6+1+4 combo. Infact this used to be the combination thru out the 80s,90s & 2000s' in the major share of matches. PLayers like Viv,Steve waugh, Chris Harris ,Border used to bowl as the 5th bowler a lot for their respective teams. That being the case I find it a bit confusing because I too selected 4 main bowlers. I think this batting line up + the 4 bowlers combo can win more matches than any 6+5 combo and hence 5th bowler or another all rounder does not count . Batsmen like Sachin & Kohli are of such calibre that they can adjust even at 5th position and be successful For instance Sachin averaged almost 36 from 4-6 positions combined for some one who started from 89 onwards. This average is still better than that of Raina.
