Not much movement on offer from the pitch and Saini started off as brainless as one could be. Saini is quick, granted. But he is not someone who has understood the nuances yet. He is unsure of the lengths where to bowl to. Cant bounce off the batsman with every delivery. Some thinking needs to go behind his bowling.

One evolves as they play. Truth is, bowling wide off the crease or closer to the stumps depends more on the batsman you are playing against. Different tactic for different players.

Yeah, it's a steady refinement that bowlers make. If you try to make too many changes too quickly, it will ruin them.

sandeep sharma 2/13 in 3 overs ,one of the best pacers in ipl :bolt:

Had he been playing for CSK he would have made into national side before Chahar, what Chahar has achieved he too could have done it

Chahar is a yard quicker than him,but don't feel that does make a difference between him and Chahar, rightly said very underrated bowler

A few points about Saini

1)  He has a good quick indipping yorker with good enough accuracy. He bowled 2 in last over. One was inside edged and the other fetched just 1.

Yet, he is reluctant to bowl 5 or 6 yorkers in the death overs. Why. ??  He should learn from young Tyagi who effectively tried 5 yorkers per over after 1 bad match.

2)  He has overcome his " bowling half volleys at the beginning " problem. But has developed a new issue of bowling long hops.

What is the point of bowling waist high short balls rather regularly. !!

When he wants to bowl short ... and he should use the quick short ball as either a set up ball or for intimidation ... he should target the back shoulder of the batsman. Learn from Bumrah and Shami.

Sandeep has already played for India, got thrashed by Zimboks.

Point is ,quite often these bowlers get thrashed

Played less,so chances of performing less

But in IPL he is under rated

How hard is it for them to understand.Just bowl a defensive length and a good line and let the batsman hit you from there and if you can move the new ball it's a bonus.

I understand you are using 'defensive line' as a terminology which has recently been in vogue in this group :) From where I see it, in 20/20, you cant wait for the batsman to make mistake. You have to make them make mistakes. In that respect, Saini has been trying. The problem is, he has not quite mastered his own art. He does the right thing to get batsmen out, the implementation is wrong. He does not come across as a street smart bowler to me. He is not hitting the right lengths and loses out on his line as well.If he sticks to a good length and then try being aggressive, he can be more successful. His short pitch balls need to be directed at the ribs. More often than not, he is going above the head by a margin, while pitching it a yard shorter.
