Why does every Indian batsman want to take 20 balls to get in now?

Because of the mentality that 40 off 30 balls is better than a 25 off 10, along with insecurity  and tendency to pass the buck (responsibility for batting with higher SR) to lower middle order batsmen

It is time that Ind starts to rate lower middle order batsmen higher than many of these top order snails

Rohit does it but he's a champion and it works. He is truly explosive later on and can make up for it.

Whole team can't have people doing the same approach though.

People keep saying Rohit makes it up, but how often? Max 3 or 4 matches out of 10. What about the other matches? No one should play with this kind of approach. PERIOD.

The Orange Cap criterion needs to be changed ASAP.

One should not hand out any batting trophies in T20s without considering the SR criterion.

Agree. I get why they have it (similar to top scorer in a football tournament) but volume of runs are meaningless without context.

Its counterproductive to have somebody at the top eating up balls and going run a ball as it severely limits the opportunity for other batters to play a meaningful role - there are only 120 balls in an innings.
