Sad Sack sez "Don't need to worry"

And I hope that, for the sake of this team, he is right.  His "Sad Sack" demeanor was instrumental in making history, so we can cut him a break here.  It is his batting that we must worry about, and if he fails again, TM/selectors must make some tough calls.

Agree, long rope is running out. He cannot score once every 7 or 8 innings to keep redeeming himself. Not just him, rest of the team too.

The big issue with him is that he never scores big hundreds. He has only crossed 150 one time in 70 matches. It implies some temperament issue maybe. Opening up after scoring 100 is fine, but don't open up so much that your brain falls out and you throw it away. I am thinking MSD miscast him as a middle order bat. He should've persisted with him as an opener, as at least he has one of the better defenses in the squad.

As of now, especially in India, it's hard to justify his playing in a pivotal spot like #5.

That's because the lower you go down the order the worse your chances are to score in India, which means opening & basically positions 1-4 are best to bat here. You think it's just a coincidence Sehwag was the best opener we've ever had in India, or RGS recently :cheer:
