Dont think there are many others..Wakhare is too old, there is Jalaj Saxena who can bat and throw in the legs breaks as well( closest to Ashwin in that regard) But then Axar is already doing well as soon as he has come in. Shows good control over the orthodox and the wrong one. We should be fine at home if he continues to do as well Saurabh Kumar is a left arm spinner. Do we not have any young offspinners in the domestic circuit barring Washington Sundar?

I think T20 has pretty much put an end to orthodox Right arm off spinners who'll bring the ball into the batsman hitting arc, so you wont find many young players coming through. At best it'll be ARs like Hooda or a Rana. Saxena is probably the only decent one I think in India. Fingers spinners, specifically SLAs, are the way to go in tests for almost every team out there.
neel roy Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Krishnappa gowtham only offspiner i can think of other than jayant yadav. So we have around 4 and Ashwin.. Sundar jalaj jayant krishnappa
Nikhil_cric Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Only exceptional offies who give it a massive rip can even hope to survive modern test cricket. They are useful only SC wickets or when the opposition has many left handers etc. They are of no use in modern white ball cricket. .

Most offies will do well in SC but overseas, he needs to utilise footmarks like in Australia on hard pitches with bounce
