No second over for Umran, not even the last over when target was already 36, Markande was preferred there as well.

But they happily gave Unadkut & Bhuvi despite getting pasted for 18 & 23 runs respectively.

Umran will continue being a passenger. He has no future.

For him the target is not to get hit more than 10 in one random over on a featherbed when others start with 20+

I don't know how relevant this is or if it is even true..... this is second hand/third hand info and may not be true. However a person I know very well and practiced medicine in India had a patient who played cricket very very well and said to the patient something like...."Why don't you try for the Mumbai Ranji team as well as you play?"

The patient answers paraphrased- "What doctor!!! Do you know how much it costs to get into the Mumbai Ranji team? Lots of money has to be paid. I don't have any money to give. So....."

Now I don't know if this is true but I played cricket until college in India but our maidservants son was a much better player than me - however he did not go far as his family of course could not pay for the gear for him etc.

If the above doctor story is true.... if.... then the IPL changed the money equation. IPL owners do not need the players paying them money to get into their team as they are obscenely wealthy themselves. They buy good players and this has resulted in good players - esp good pace bowlers - getting a chance which they otherwise could not in Ranjis. That would explain easily a lot .... if the above story is true.

Yeah as if ranji trophy pays that much that one will pay a fortune to get in,there are better paying jobs than that. And pacers struggle in ranji trophy .

It was the gate to the test team - no Ranji team chance no test team chance.

Again Ind bowlers looked like they can give away more than 270 runs in a T20 run chase, till Pandya sucked the life out of the chase

mi looked like chasing if not chasing then not losing by more than 15/20 runs

Bhuvi keeps pitching it up, full tosses, good thing was he didnt bowl a no/wide ball.

Bhumrah was unable to pick wkts, seems like team are able to keep his wkt taking balls away and it is kind of a repetitive thing now with him

MI has Tushara (SL intnl with Malinga kind of action) and they are playing Mapakha an U19 player

Umran Malik

146

speed not shown (dropped catch)

speed not shown (wide)

145

147 (yorker)

148 (yorkerish)

speed not shown

Looked quite settled, lengths are also bit better. Though line is bit wayward.

Not his top speeds but good speed, with lack of rhythm

Both are tall to extract that sort of spongy bounce

Cummins does it better

They are tall and were able to get bounce with those deliveries not sure if Umran/Bhuvi would have got the same bounce

That's his best chance on these type of pitches.

if pitch has more grass and pace and bounce then he can bowl normally

Bowling fast is more important than wickets: Rob Key’s message to county bowlers

Our crickets legends

"Phaast bowling leak runs",

"Line length pe focus Karo",

"The faster you bowl, the faster it goes",

"If you bowl fast, you will spray it around",

"Indian bodies aren't made for bowling fast",

"Line length is more important, pace is not important".

These are some of the jumla's which I have heard during commentary by so called legendary commentators of Indian Cricket.

first change the pitches otherwise it's wont work, make sure these is no turn whatsoever for spinners and only then you need quicker pacers else they use swing for the new ball and then spin later on.

Wondering what KKR mgmt does with Sakib...  Inside the fanbase there seem to be a consensus that Sakib (likely) or Arora will replace a spinner when they move outside Eden.

Hopefully we see Sakib bowling against RCB in Chinnaswamy.  No sense to play a extra spinner in impact there...  But then again RCB batters struggle vs spin so it would be interesting either way.

Every neutral Indian fan must support KKR this season imo... Or heck even RR
