Think he bowled 9 dots, which is good, he was looking lot better than his all the previous years, yorkers, wide yorker, slower-one.

One thing which may have went to his favour that Rinku was captaining.
Both have played games together, so Rinku perhaps understand the strengths of Tyagi better.

Problem with most newcomers quicks, they overdo those variations while getting carried away without gauging the pace of the pitch

And they need to also know about themselves and their limitations, for eg there is no point bowling slower ones one after the other when you are predictable or there is a certain tweak/change in action while delivering those variations

Harshit,Mayank(developed it last year),Tyagi too overdo some variations which spoils their figures

Actually I saw Hardik Pandya encouraging him and hugging him a lot right after the match. Didn't expect a chhapri like Pandya to do this for someone, but it was mighty sweet.

Thoda status upgrade ho gaya Pandya ka. Ab wo 'karke' ja sakta hai ghar:wp57:

From what I see, young fast bowlers, or fast bowlers in general have forgotten the strength of a good full length/ or just short of a good length ball pitched with a little bounce around the off stump. This could be a safe bet, but instead, they choose to bowl slow so that the batsmen don't get the pace to divert the ball to the boundary. Obviously, the off stump channel is more Test centric, but it's always a tough one to negotiate if there's just a little more bounce than normal.

Ashok has played full season(may not be all the games) Vht, ranji and Smat , if he shows some spark then should be really good for the Ind team.

He wont be just 4 overs bowler

I look at him from longest format perspective. Bowl hard length, fast and atleast 16-18 overs a day.

Ashok bowling 140 clicks but looks too short. Doesn’t  have the height: these kind of bowlers should hit at least 150 to impress à la mark wood.
