Fans need to understand England approach will not work for Indian team.

you are not getting my point still

I am not saying give Pujara a T20 slot.

I am saying back players who are good enough to play in all 3 formats because those will be the real match winners. These “specialists”

will always be hit or miss. That’s the point I was making with the name of England’s core players I just gave.

Dhawan was always consistent in ODI struggling in test same rohit

bevan ,

Butler bairstrow are in n out of test

Malan not even in ODI team , but very consistent in t20

Aisa koi rule nahin

In the main you are right but this approach can change if we suffer a bad defeat as a knee jerk reaction like we saw in the England odi series when the top 3 tried batting aggressively. In an important knockout game though there is next to no chance they play adventurous cricket. Infact kohli will probably stick to the 'safe' opening option he seems to think is the solution for the team because he feels someone has to bat through the innings which in itself is outdated thinking.

We arent champions n not playing to our potential shud be enough to change our approach

About safe approach in KO game, yea right as if that worked last 2 time

Yea we are playing outdated cricket that to when rules are so in favour of batsman

we won the series didnt we?

Patience is important

yea we did, but like before the run up to the 2019 wc it's important you have your bases covered. we were winning a lot but everyone and their dog could have told you that that MO was going to be  problem in an important game and that was what happened. We fixed it but took 2 yrs to do so and didn't even pick the players we backed when the time came to select the squad.

all our bases are covered just need a have the right order and consistency with it . Only problem is too many options messes up with kohli.

As far as players are concerned we have every skillset avl

Now only 2 things matter - Clarity in plans and consistency (which i knw wnt happen)

There is a reason why we got bowled out for 200 odd despite 3 batsmen getting run a ball 40-50’s.

SKY looked like a million bucks and got a great delivery but even for him or Pandya they won’t get better opportunities to score big 100’s in odis. Runs are runs. Shaw for me is a big let down, had he scored a 200 here he would have been the 1st backup in all LOI formats or even replace Dhawan. This isn’t ICF fantasy league. Runs and standout performances matter.

that's what the problem was.And we didn't really fix our problem vs swing. The batting order wasnt flexible.

We have good MO now.Should back this approach now

well i'd say getting the team and combination right is a pretty important base. That's the biggest fear with the TM that they will choose the wrong combination going into the t20 world cup. Isnt it?

everyone has gone through this , they all learned with time

200-100 , everything will come with time n experience. 10-10 ODI nahin khele shaw or sky expectation to dekho

Well the team did okay throught the tournament. the issue was with the approach in the 1 game we lost against England where we took too long to tee off - reason being given then was the weak MO - and the semi where we were a bit unlucky without being able to complain about the spicy conditions we got the following day.

Even dhawan threw away his starts , we invested in dhawan n he became better with time. He also had his struggles

Dhawan-Rohit-Kohli together are wasting 1st 25 over so one has to go and it has to be dhawan

Fanatsy league is a poor example coz in fantasy leagues players like dhawan or even babar are gold coz they score runs and impact dont matter but in real cricket impact matters.

The diff between champion side and a side that comes 2nd is IMPACT

no one has scored an away 200 yet. There's a neutral 200 vs Zim only IIRC.

How many of our batsmen have scored hundreds in first 10 ODI let alone 200

They won’t get more halwa teams than this was the point I am making. Should have cashed in.  Goes for Pandey,Pandya and Dhawan as well

even halwa teams become more potent in thier home conditions. That's why there is no away 200 yet.

Do not think selectors /seniors who matter will use 100/200 as yardstick to be selected for back up role for players in early 20s.

Again what is the desperation that they should be in T20WC side .

Let the current superstars show their mettle & win.  So far they have empty cupboard.  If they win , Good for them as hardly they have just 2 years left.

Even if we do badly in T20WC, only Dhawan will go. RO & VK will still be there for next T20WC.

Right now we need players with aggressive approach who can give us frequent 30-40s minimum with high strike rate  - One at the top & a couple in MO with Rohit & Kohli carrying the anchorman roles cos  RO & VK will not go anywhere.

Fact is these youngsters go for shots rather than accumulate & become stats boosters. If they do  that they will also start getting few big scores

and will forget about wins . This is the problem with current stars and this should end first up.

The situation right now with India team is that we have 3 accumulators at the top who are not going to go away till 2023 WC. So the onus is on these new guys to play aggressively while stars will do stat padding!.

Just look at the pattern from the past -

1. Tendulkar ATG player took few years to blossom but super talent was visible from the beginning.

2.  Yuvi - after initial burst took almost 3-4 years to start delivering

3.  Butler, Bairsow,Stokes all took almost 4-5 years .

4. Rohit - took 5 years

5. babar -  almost 4 years

6. Pooran - Big talent  but still not delivering.

Same pattern will happen in India also . That should be the expectation. Out of 5-6 guys , may be 2-3 may come good . that is the probability.

I will say it for the zillionth time we do not have a lower or lower middle order for our top order to play rashly or irresponsibly.

Thank Dhawan and a very mature/responsible knock from Sky today

Whar are you talking about.

We have d second coming of kapil and klusener in pandya brothers.
