Has a stellar record though. he was underrated both in his time and later as well. barrington was kind of SRT (obviously much more defensive) in the sense that he rarely failed and scored well against all conditions and attacks. moreover, very rarely for an eng batsman, he was a beast in away tests (an avg of nearly 70) especially in SC. people looked at his dour batting and did not regard him as highly as more "attractive" near-contemporary players like cowdrey, peter may (very refined elegant player), even graveney. Our openers are in form Pant is a better test batsman then butler As of now they just have root , unless they find players around him to score their problems are much more deeper. Surely after a kick on their ass ,the likes of Sibley ,crawley ,burns will get their acts together for a game or two . The English Lower order Butler and Curran are due a big score. Regarding the Indian batting ,I think we have reached our peak scores, now England will prepare more seaming pitches
SRT100 Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 India can expect to lose a game if they persist with the Pujara-Kohli-Rahane order. As Kohli is captain, Pujara has to make way in the next match. India got out of jail on Day 5. Poms may have scored only 120, but they would have fancied themselves chasing successfully 175 if not for Bumrah and Shami batting.

England played good cricket for majority of the game but they fell apart on day 5. These wins don't come often & our batting line up needs a serious look. Pujara has to go I think but I don't expect Kohli to think with his brains... And already ex players are praising Pujara for a fluke 40 odd. I don't like our chances heading into Headingley tbh & I am one of those guys who backed India to beat Australia at Gabba after SCG draw.

We could actually be one of the best teams ever if we pick a proper middle order like Rahul Pant and sundar. Top 3 will need changes. Possibly rohit mayank and either eeshwaran or whoever is new. Our bowling is world class. Vijy 1

Kohli will NOT however change the batting lineup. He may rotate/change/drop the bowlers however. Ashwin and Thakur are candidates to come in. Vijy 1

You cannot expect much from a man with a single brain cell, and that brain cell is mostly spending its time with his wifey and/or coming up with new insults.
