How was this test match declared drawn?

Because the scores were level and we were not all out at the end of mandatory 15 overs of the last day.

Still remember the drama on day 5. Ashwin getting run out of the last ball of the test. He did not even try to run for the 2nd, took the 1st run casually, Aaron pushed him for the 2nd but was too late.

Ahh I see, so if you don’t lose all 10 wickets it’s still a draw even if the scores are level in test matches, right?

First time Ashwin's comical fitness and running between the wickets was exposed. Still got MOM for a 9fer and a 100 (MOS as well), remember cheering for Sachin's 100 in hostel's common room, many people skipped some morning class in anticipation of 100th 100, he got out in nervous 90s after batting beautifully. Match had draw written all over it (patta) and suddenly things exploded on day 5.

The entire series was scheduled to get that 100th 100.

I went to the Kotla test for days 2 to 4. Sachin got out for 75, the 100 was there for the taking. But we successfully chased 280 odd thanks to VVS
