bharathh Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 She fell for a casanova and became a home-wrecker knowingly. Her karma caught up with her. That said - the Telugu film was very good. Was dubbed in Tamil and Malayalam as well (I watched the Tamil version) Lovely songs too. Never watched her movies - but my mom and others told that Keerthi Suresh did a great job portraying her onscreen. Dulquer Salman was good as always as Gemini Ganesan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahanati My fav song from the movie. Super composition EnterTheVoid 1

And curses those who took advantage of her. There seems to be a common recurring theme amongst people who achieve a lot in their life. They die young.
EnterTheVoid Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 2021 marks 40 years since Savitri's death. Her last days on this planet were truly painful.
EnterTheVoid Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) Stunning. Like going back in time and seeing the real Savirti in her prime. Edited September 7, 2021 by EnterTheVoid
Yoda-esque Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Maya bazaar was a movie ahead of it's time and Savitri was a scene stealer in every frame EnterTheVoid 1
nevada Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Movie industry is male dominated. Many women have suffered similar fate. Meena Kumari, Madhubala, Parveen Babi, Zeenat Aman(was thrashed physically by husband and lover), Asha Bhonsle, Jaya Prada, etc. EnterTheVoid 1
EnterTheVoid Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 Finished watching Mahanati. Savitri's downfall was truly painful to watch :((
EnterTheVoid Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) If you understand Telugu, you really are in for a treat. Some of the dialogue was really hard to listen to. It was like being stabbed in the heart with knives. Oh, Savitri gaaru. Meeku swargha sukhala dorukuthayi aani, nenu korukuntunanu. (Dear Savitri, hope you find happiness in heaven). @Mariyam, give this movie a watch. It's on Amazon Prime. Edited September 7, 2021 by EnterTheVoid Mariyam and sorak 1 1
