You need zip and bounce with speed to be effective. ishant's issue is his messed up action. he doesnt quite use his entire body to generate pace. biomechanically his form is incorrect. His follow through is almost non existent. Vijy 1 Link to comment

Because release point depends on the length. Look at Jofra here. Even he is releasing the ball from ahead. Difference in fuller and shorter length release. Shorter length release will be late making you deliver the ball from forward position and full length will be early. Woakes similar too. Edited December 12, 2021 by rkt.india Link to comment

Bumrah was regularly bowling 138 kph to 148 kph from 2017 to 2020. And occasionally touching 150 kph too till 2019. Those 4 years he looked scary quick. I hope he can get back to those speeds from 2022 onwards as bubble norms relax. Nowadays he is mostly 135 k to 145 k/146 k ... probably due to bubble fatigue. Vijy 1 Link to comment

It's not as simple as they are making it out. Release point depends on several aspects. Every ball will have a different release point because of different lengths. We need to compare the lengths too, not just release points. Link to comment

I did think it was an attempt to undermine bumrah's ability. Feels like they wanted to highlight the ability to use the entire crease as the only attribute that makes him more deadly. Almost like a coping mechanism because they got their butts handed to them. Aussies I.e. Edited December 13, 2021 by Jay Link to comment
